What do you know about the day?

Keeping in view the words of NELSON MANDELA; “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”,the idea of an international day of education was first proposed by the United Nations Educational on December 3, 2018. It was manifested by the United Nations as a means to promote peace, sense of responsibility and understanding among peoples through cooperation in education. The date chosen for this observance, the 24th of January, marks the anniversary of the signing of the UNESCO Constitution. Since then, the 24th of January has been recognized as the International Day of Education by people around the world

How beautifully Elbert Hubbard has said;
Opportunities for education should be within the reach of every individual, not for the lucky few
Universal access to quality education is one of the most important tools we have to achieve sustainable development and through education, people not only recognize their duties but also know how to achieve their national, social and individual rights. .

The United Nations International Education Day is a day to raise awareness about the lack of access to proper education in many parts of the world. There are some nations where no formal teachers exist, schools or learning resources are available, and some even use education for their own ends, molding future generations as they wish. Education is a global human right, and we should do everything possible to guarantee that everyone has access to it.

How do you or your country celebrate the day?

In the words of Lyndon B Johnson:
Education is not a problem it’s an opportunity
From 24 January 2019; in Pakistan and countries around the world, the first International Day of Education is celebrated that reminds us that without inclusive and equitable quality learning our country will not succeed in breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions of children and their families behind.Aida Girma, UNICEF Representative in Pakistan said;
Every child has the right to an education and quality learning opportunities from early childhood to adolescence. And yet, a range of factors – including economic circumstances, low-quality teaching and schools, geographic location, gender, disability – prevent millions of Pakistani children from learning
On this day different seminars are held throughout the country within schools, colleges and universities to create awareness among the youth about education. Moreover, different investors also invest in different educational projects throughout the country to provide an ease og education among the talented students. Different educational com pains are launched throughout the countries.
Moreover different funds are collected and distributed among those innocent students who merely not get education just because of lack of money.

What impact do your community gain during and after the commemoration and what issue or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week?

In our society, 23 million children aged 5-16 remain out of school — fourty-four percent of the total population in this age group. The country has the world’s second-highest number of out-of-school children (OOSC) at the primary level, with five million children aged 5-9 not attending school. After primary-school age, the number of OOSC doubles, with 11 million adolescents between the ages of 10-14 not receiving formal education. To cope with the situation, following steps can be
First of all, it’s important for all of us to come together to enhance education in our own communities. This can begin at home, by introducing your siblings or children to materials that will encourage them to continue to learn outside of the classroom setting. We simply can’t depend on traditional schools alone to strengthen education in our cities and towns. If I’m not wrong it needs to be a community effort!
As parents and educators we often walk on eggshells around digital media, considering that it can just as easily harm our kids as much as it can foster education. How do we ensure the latter? How do we leverage digital transformation so that it works for their physical, emotional, and intellectual health? For starters, introduce them to applications that are fun yet educational I.e; installing learning based apps and games for children.
We may not have the power to promote teacher salaries, but we can help provide them with tools to make their jobs easier, and to better engage their students. Through your support, we can continue to create and provision learning tools to support the great work of educators in all corners of the country and develop interest among the young ones.
This last one is a big one that everyone can get behind. And like with all future-forward things, it begins with out kids. It’s our job to hand them the knowledge, skills, and materials to run with it on their own one day. That is sustainability in action! So how can you contribute to safeguarding the planet and unlock the potential of future generations? . The best thing you can do is show support for established organizations that support youth by focusing on how they can work with their environment to foster a better world.
Together we can work towards the UN’s goal to realize everyone’s fundamental right to education and build a more sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful future by promoting education.Moreover, my suggestion to the steamians is to launch an online com pain regarding educational awareness among the people.
