Bamenda is located in the north west region of Cameroon. Cameroon is a nation made of 10 regions, 58 divisions and 360 subdivisions. Bamenda comprises of seven department: BOYO department, BUI department, MEZAM department, DONGA MANTUNG department, MENCHUM department, MOMO department and NGOKETUNJIA department. i reside from mezam division and subdivision SANTA.

Bamenda is the capital of the northwest region of cameroon which originated from former southern Cameroon, comprising of the North west and South west regions of cameroon. it is made up of several ethnic groups(villages) with variety of local languages. just like the south west region, the main spoken language in Bamenda is the English language. southwest and north west region of Cameroon are the only english speaking regions in cameroon.
Bamenda is bounded to the north by Nigeria, to the south by the west region, to the east by Adamawa region, and to the southwest by the southwest region. the north west and south west region were formally annexed by British empire in 1919
and in 1961, they joined the french colonized part of cameroon to become a unity state "United republic of Cameroon" which is later change to "Republic of Cameroon" under the presidency of H.E president PAUL BIYA.
