From the past opportunities up until now, the Steem Cameroon Community have delivered excellently well in organizing educative contest for thier audience.

For the first week, you have presented a lovely contest titled Gender visibility and enquality by @steem-cameroon.

From time past, they have been issues and complaints arising from the equality of women to men in our society. This topic of gender equality and visibility have seen the creation of many organizations and bodies against discrimination of any sort.

We have seen women held some important positions in the society, and this got us asking if gender equality I'd really necessary.

Follow my article, as I would be sharing my views with you on the issue of women visibility and equality.

From the days of our forefathers up untill now, we have heard and seen women battle for visibility and gender equality. Lots of women were restricted from performing certain activities, as they were deemed duties of the men.

There have been legal battles and proclamations about this matter, we have seen huge changes in the rights and privileges of women compared to the 80's and 90's.

We have seen in the fields and disciplines of life that women are currently making history in various aspects of the society.

I can attest that I have seen female experts in the political, educational, and health sectors. This implies that women are not left out in the field of life, and their efforts are commendable.

For the answer about helping my community forge a gender-equal world, I would say by making a woman the Local Government Chairman.

Because I have observed that women have had lesser power in decision-making across many areas of the world today. Politicians are usually regarded as the powerhouse of decision-making in a particular community.

So if I am allowed to make a woman the leader of my community, it would help in ensuring a visible and gender-equal society.

Yes, the celebration of Women's International Day can help increase both visibility and equality, because it's a celebration about their global achievements thus far.

Women celebrates this day (8th March) in order to tell the world that they have made great achievements in various aspects of life. Ranging from social, economic, and political achievements.

From the first Women's Day celebration that took place on the 8th of March 1911 till date, they have been huge improvement and awareness as regards women power, courage and determination.

The celebrations are primarily aimed at creating awareness across places still practicing gender discrimination. The women seeks to continuously restore the two most important factor of the gender fight (equality and visibility).

Both the feminism and women’s rights are fighting towards one direction, but their approaches and complaints are slightly different.

The fight for women's right is a movement that includes some basic sectors of the women life, such as healthcare, employment, education, and safety. But the feminism fight is a much broader one, seeking to challenge the long standing discrimination against gender (including remedies to inequality and oppression of all genders in the society).

Basically, thier fights are inter-related, given the fact they both seek to see a free and fair gender equal society.

Truely, having more women occupying to positions, like Presidents and Parliamentarians, would be a positive step forward for gender equality.

Having more women handling top positions would help provide the necessary influence, and create balance among genders in the society.

Over the years, many countries have adopted the idea of allowing women handle top political positions.

There are still cultural biases against women taking on top roles, so it is essential that we continue to challenge these beliefs and encourage more women to take up leadership positions.

Like in the case of my country Nigeria, a woman named Kema Chikwe has done what many men won't be able to do politically. Apart from winning several awards and commendations for her hardwork, she's currently aiming at contesting for the Governorship election in Imo state Nigeria.

Women like Kema Chikwe serves as role models for younger generations, showing them what is possible when you work hard and remain dedicated to your cause.

In any organization, firm, or country, the most important aspect of selecting a leader would most likely be through qualifications.

This implies that the quality of a person with character such as strength, intelligence, vision, and determination would be considered appropriate for the task of leadership (regardless of their gender).

Although most men believes that leadership belongs to the male gender, as they tend to be more powerful and courageous. But the female gender have also proven to be more open-minded and collaborative.

When it come to decision making, the male gender would be more reliable. But when it comes to team building and better communication with sub-ordinates, the female gender would deliver excellent.

Wheather you are male or female, I believe we all have unique roles to play when given the opportunity to lead.

I would end by saying it's more important to focus on merit rather than gender when choosing a leader.

The issue of gender equality should be settled with everyone getting the same rights and privileges. Both male and female should be accessed equal rights to education, employment and other resources.

Hopefully this message spread out across every corners of the world, and let us all embrace the beautiful change and privileges our forefathers failed to acknowledge.
