STEEM CAMEROON BEST DAY CONTEST: 20/01/2022

Hi steemit friends and welcome to this latest version of my best day of the week contest. I am going to titled this day, THE CORONATION CEREMONY OF MY COUSIN. It's has been a tradition in Africa and some parts of the world that children succeed their parents after they have passed on to glory. Fathers always choose those that would succeed them after their death. Most of these parents have their selection parameters and when they have a series of children, it becomes difficult at times to do the selection.

When it comes to a polygamous home, the choice making and decision taking becomes a problem. This is worst especially when other children wants to be their father's successor as well. This usually results to in house fighting followed by gravious consequences. This situation is usually worse when their father is having a lot of financial and material resources.

On the 16th of January 2022, it was the turn of my cousin. His coronation ceremony was a success and given that the father died having only his mother. His brothers gave their concerns. We were in the village the whole day and neighbors were invited to witness the ocasion. We had enough to eat and drink. The traditional rides were done and I was already having the feeling that my lost uncle is back.

People take appointments and leadership as a means to exercise power and have control over people and property. For me it's rather an increase in responsibility. A lot is expected from successors than what is given. It's an opportunity to serve the family and not the family to serve you. It needs a lot of wisdom to manage a home. God leaders depend on God for wisdom in order to succeed.

= i was able to visit my village after a long time.
= i was able to observe some traditional rights.
= i was part of my cousin's day.
= my uncle is back.
= we were blessed with a safe journey to and from the village.
