Steemit Engagement Challenge S8-W3 | Elections in my Country.
INTRODUCTION
I welcome you all once again to this week's engagement challenge, permit me to say that this topic is more important to Nigerians because Election and it's process has become a laughing stock in my country lately. The least is the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria. But for the fact that there is tips on this challenge let me pour out my views by answering the questions below.
What do you think about Elections in your country:
Election is been done in my country, it is done in 4years intervals where every citizen who is up to 18years will be registered and be given voters card also known as (PVC)which will permit each citizen to exercise his or her franchise on the election day by voting.
👉🏾What do you think about the electoral system in your country?
We have an open ballot voting system where by a citizen will be given a ballot paper to vote the candidate of his choice, In my country the electoral system is followed duely but at the end of every thing our voting will become meaningless. The person that will give the highest cash will win the election and be declared the winner against the people's choice and against the legal winner or the person that has the highest vote.
👉🏾How is it done in your country?
After accreditation on the election day , the person's face will be captured with what they call BEVAS after you will be given ballot papper to vote in a white open koisk .
👉🏾Is it transparent and fair in your country..
No No And No. The system is so corrupt. During this election alot of things do happen the opposition will be fighting each other . Killing and kidnapping will be on the increase. Making the right and credible candidate to be afraid of showing interest. In my country election has been seen as a do or die affairs where the most powerful and the richest wins the race.
👉🏾Assume there's no fairness and effectiveness as far as elections are concerned, what solutions can you propose to ensure its being carried out the right way
The prayer of every well meaning Nigerian today is for the election process to be free and fair. Where every single vote of each citizen will count. If I am to proffer solution i will make sure that .
- There is security.
- There is trained personnels
- Let every voting be done online where everyone can vote at the comfort of his or her home.
- All the higher officers should be mathematicians and statistician who can count and be hold accountable for every figure.
- It will be zoned .
- Making life easy for citizens.
- creating awareness before the election day without bribing anyone.
Conclusion
Is our right to vote,no matter how the corrupt leaders wants it to be we are sure that one day ,someone that will have the fear of God and people's welfare at heart will make out vote count. Thanks everyone I love you all.

The weight is reduced because of the lack of Voting Power. If you vote for me as a witness, you can get my little vote.
Killing and kidnapping this is bad. How will dis help. I pray God can intervene and the elections can be done peacefully without killings. Thanks for sharing I wish you luck

Creo que todos vivimos lo mismo no hay transparencia en nuestros sistemas electorales, siempre se escapa un detalle...
