This time I participated in a contest initiated by Steem Cameroon Community. The theme presented was National or International awareness day Contest (S6-W05). I want to invite some steemian friends @ustazkarim @isha46 @walictd, If there is a chance, visit this contest immediately.

What do you know about the day? (Make sure you mention the actual date) (50 -100 wards)

In our country (Indonesia) every May 20 is celebrated as National Resurgence Day (Harkitnas). Harkitnas is commemorated to commemorate the services of national leaders who founded the Budi Utomo organization on May 20, 1908. The establishment of Budi Utomo is considered a moment of national awakening for the Indonesian nation.

Budi Utomo is an organization formed by a number of STOVIA students (Tot Opleiding van Indische Arsten School). A number of figures who co-founded this organization include Dr Soetomo, Soeraji Tirtonegoro, Goenawan Mangoenkoesoemo, Gondo Soewarno, Soelaiman, Angka Prodjosudirdjo, M. Soewarno, Moehammad Saleh, and RM. Goembrek. However, there is one figure who plays an important and inspiring role, namely Dr. Wahidin Soedirohusodo who is also an alumnus of STOVIA.

Initially, the Budi Utomo organization was only engaged in the social and cultural fields. A number of schools called Boedi Oetomo were founded to promote Javanese culture. Members of Budi Utomo also consist of people from the Javanese and Madurese tribes. This organization began to enter politics in 1915. This was triggered by World War I.

In 1920, the Budi Utomo organization began to accept members from the common people. This organization began to open its membership to all Indonesian people in 1930. In its journey, the Boedi Oetomo organization had nationalist ideals, namely pushing for Indonesian independence.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day? (50-100 words)

This year the commemoration of National Resurgence Day feels special, because the Indonesian football team has just won a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. This is a SEA Games gold medal after Indonesia last won in 1991, 32 years ago.

Therefore, this achievement is synchronized with National Resurgence Day. With hope, Indonesian football can bounce back as before. Because of that, the achievement in Cambodia is considered as a way of reviving Indonesian football in Southeast Asia.

Because it coincides with National Resurgence Day the Indonesian football parent organization (PSSI) makes this momentum a revival of Indonesian sports, especially football. PSSI celebrated by holding a procession along the streets of the nation's capital; Jakarta.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration? (50-100 words)

Due to good football achievements, PSSI will create a new program, in all regions in Indonesia. Where young players will get priority to appear in the Indonesian competition (Indonesian League) in the future. This is good news for young players in the regions, especially PSSI Aceh.

Because, obviously they will get the same opportunity as other young players. All of these steps were taken to strengthen the Indonesian national football team on the international stage. Moreover, in September there will be the Asian Games in China.

Thus, opportunities will open up for all players from all corners of Indonesia to defend the national team. That's what makes me very excited to help and make this program a success.

What issue or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and on what date?

I recommend that on May 29 there will be a National Old Age Day (Lansia) and an International Amnesty Day. The elderly are elderly people who also need to maintain their health as a vulnerable group. It's just that this Old Age Day is not a national holiday like National Awakening Day in our country.

Of the two moments, I prefer International Amnesty Day. Amnesty International is a global movement of millions of people to demand human rights for all human beings--no matter who they are or where they are. They work to protect every individual where their justice, freedom, truth and dignity have been violated.

For that I support that this weekend I can commemorate International Mandate Day. Hopefully.
