The Bridge To Stronger Relationships

Effective communication to me is a two-way street whereby a message is delivered clearly and interpreted accurately, breeding feelings of satisfaction in both the speaker and the listener.

Effective communication is 8% the words we speak, 38% the tone of our voices or vocal variety and about 55% nonverbal. This means that in effective communication, how you say things is more important than what you say.

Igniting understanding is not just about sending messages, its about receiving them too. It is a dialogue and not a monologue. In public speaking you must be able to speak and listen to your audience (the words they say and their body language) in order to adapt your speech when necessary for a more impactful talk.

What is public speaking?

Public speaking is defined as the ability to stand infront of a live audience and deliver a talk, either to inform, entertain or persuade the audience. Public speaking is effective communication.

We have gone way pass the Era of the muscle, otherwise known as the Era of the survival of the fittest. It is the person who can effectively communicate their ideas across the table that wins in this Era.

You must not be a Professional speaker, but you must speak professionally if you truly desire success in whatever you do. This is because we communicate in all that we do. If you are a business person, a teacher, a parent, spouse or potential spouse, employee or employer, journalist, preacher. Effective communication is the key to outperforming in your field.

This is the number one fear of humans as 77% of human beings according to research fear speaking in public. 🥴

For instance!

Some parents attend PTA ( Parents, Teachers Association) meetings with burdens concerning their children's welfare in school and end up going back home with these worries simply because of the fear to face a crowd and speak up. I know this because I used to be like some parents. Effective communication is imperative in everyday life.

Effective communication fosters strong relationships: knowing what to say, when to say it and most importantly how to say it, to me plays a huge role in building robust relationships. Let's take the case of a couple. When you or your spouse use the right words at home, in an appealing way, the energy at home is friendly, but when the wrong ones are used in the wrong way. The energy goes wrong and if not handled with deligence, the friendship can take a sour turn.

Effective communication reduces misunderstandings and promotes a peaceful coexistence amongst individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Parents Listen!

The way you communicate with your children plays a key role in shaping their mindset and belief system: parents need to be very alert to how they communicate with their children. You want to communicate with them like they matter, their opinions count and like they were the best versions of themselves. This builds their self-esteem and with that, the sky isn't even their limit.
