Let me start by explaining what the wood is. I define the wood as an open space filled with timbers. It could either be a reserved park or just a thick overgrown tree space.

So, a visit to the wood refers to an act which involve a tour to an open space filled with trees. As simple as that. What I am trying to say is that; it is the act of deciding to go see the forest either for refreshment or anyother purpose.

Characters

• Gab: A young teenager who was obsessed with a fairy tale about ghost in the wood.

• Anita: Gab's friend

• Mr Park:Gab's father

It was going to be a long holiday as Gab was back from school for the Christmas break. Anita who was Gab's next door neighbour and friend was also back from school for the break. Gab who was obsessed about a fairy tale he heard from his art teacher about ghost living in the wood and attacking people by night.

He has been sleeping over this and would want to give it a try but was scared of going there alone. As he kept pondering that night, he quickly remembered Anita and decides to share the story with her just to know if Anita would be interested visiting the wood by night.

The next day, he woke up quite early and visited Anita and decide to share the story with her, it was kind of pleading to her and she ablashed to visiting the wood that night with Gab. Gab was happy, atleast he has an ally. So they both agreed on the time they will be going out and their meeting point. Everything was well planned and agreed on by both parties.

The night finally came, Gab waited for his parents and siblings to sleep so he can get to the meetup point with Anita. At about 11pm, he left the house and went straight to the nearby street, Anita was already waiting for him, they met and set out to the woods.

As they get closer to the woods, the night birds were chirping, it was really dark but they went with light, it became more scarier when they got fully into the woods and saw different graveyards. They least expected it, all they wanted to see was how a ghost looks like and they will just take a picture and set back home, but things went south when the only lamb they had felt down and refused to get back to life, they became dead scared and were shivering out of fear.

An owl was flying over them and they began to cry for help, but who was to help them at such odd hour of the night?, Just as they managed to put the lantern back, the saw a tall gigantic being standing right Infront of them with a so much blood stains on him. They shouted but felt stuck together that they couldn't dare make any move.

The gigantic being kept looking at them and snarling, being fully raged and seems he was ready to devour them. They kept shouting and pleading the being should let them go and promised never to returned, just so sooner, the trees began to dance to the tune of an invisible beats, the worst was yet to come as it was time for the ghost dance.

Nobody told them ghost were scary to behold, they were thinking they will see beautiful creature adorned with white garments, but reality struck in as this was quite the opposite of their imagination. Ghosts came out in numbers for the night dance, some bad horns on them and on seeing Gab and Anita, they were jubilating as they knew they have a food readily available for them.

The echoing of the ghost sent goosebumps right to the duo and they kept crying, the wood had a great quaking and everything in it seemed to be upside down, they just couldn't believe their eyes. As the ghost kept dancing round them as carnibal would do. They became really terrified when everything in the wood became shady, they couldn't feel their skins anymore, firstly, Anita's spirit was drawn from her leaving Gab gasping for breath.

Gab on seeing Anita being one of them, snarling and speaking strange language,he began to cry, he was hit really hard on the head and he woke up from sleep shouting Anita!!! Really hard. His dad bad to hold him right to calm him down, just for Gab to realize all were nightmares bore out of his obsession of visiting the wood. From that night, he promised himself never to go near the wood nor even planning to visit.
