Steemit Engagement Challenge S8-W2 | Gender visibility and enquality.

Hello friends,

I believe you are all doing great and well, and you are all enjoying this engagement challenge.

Well, you don't need to ask me because I am enjoying mine very well, the interaction and love I receive from my fellow steemians.

Here's another opportunity for me to relate with my friends on steemit and I am doing so my submitting this entry.

Today's topic promises to be interesting, please follow along as we begin our wonderful adventure.

This is a very brilliant question and before providing a befitting answer to this question, I will love to explain what gender equality means.

Gender equality can be explained as the act of viewing both genders equally, not making one superior over the other.

In some parts of the world, men are viewed as more superior to women, some culture even believes that women don't have the right to be educated since they will end up in their husbands house.

All these are gender inequality and shouldn't be encouraged anymore.

We shouldn't wait for gender equality to be practiced at top level, even at the lowest level gender equality should be practice.

In my explanation below, I will mention how I can help a community forge a gender equal world and I shall be relating some of my explanation to steemit:

• ENTRUST BOTH GENDER WITH THE SAME ROLES:

One very important way that communities can promote gender equality is by entrusting both male and female gender with the same roles.

A good example is that displayed by the steemit team, they select both male and female steemians to function as community curators and country representative.

When you appoint them to the same roles, the male wouldn't see reasons to feel superior.

• ASSIGN THEM TO POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY:

Yes, to promote a gender equal world, male and female should both be appointed to positions of authority.

In most nations, only the male are appointed position of authority, it shouldn't be so.

The female gender should also be appointed position of authority.

It is not bad idea to celebrate our women on women's international day, as it will help to make them feel loved and special.

We cannot deny the fact that our women has assisted the men in so many ways and in achieving so many goals.

Nevertheless, i don't think the celebration of women international day can increase the equality of women to men.

Yes, it can help increase their visibility in our world but more is needed to increase their equality to men.

Permit me to give a brief description of both fights so we can easily discern what they are.

Feminism fight can be explained to be a move aimed at puting an end to sexism, oppression and sexist exploitation and to achieve absolute gender equality in law and practice.

Women right fight is explained to be a fight against the inequality of the female gender.

A fight to ensure that the women exploits the same right as the men.

From the definition of both, it is seen that they both have the same interest at heart which is the equality of the female gender.

Personally I wouldn't say they are the same, I will classify feminism fight to be a fight of women extremist.

Seeing women in positions of authority actually makes me happy because I believe in the ability of women.

It is popularly known that female are more caring and devoted to whatever they do when compared to men.

Men are easily distracted and can be easily bribed, unlike women.

So seeing a woman in a position of Authority, I have this assurance that such an office will perform excellently well.

A good example is Okonji Iweala, she is currently heading the world trade organization and she is from the south eastern of Nigeria.

Before now, she held a position as one of the directors for world bank in Africa.

She really served well and held some other positions, she should be the role model of most ladies in Nigeria.

She is one reason women should be given a chance to prove their worth.

It is so obvious that a good leader doesn't just come from gender alone but from merit.

One should be appointed a leader not because he is a male but because he/she possess some unique qualities.

Unique qualities such as hardwork, diligence, charismatism, impartial and many more.

A good leader shouldn't come from gender, that will be a great mistake.

It is very important that gender equality is actualize and practiced all over the world.

I believe that women has a lot more to offer if only they will be given the chance to.

They will make the world a better place if I'm conjunction with men, they are allowed to hold position of authority
