I wholeheartedly concur that recognizing International Women's Day can be important in advancing women's rights. It promotes gender equality by increasing public knowledge of the problems, accomplishments, and contributions made by women to society.

The celebration definitely won't increase the equality as you've said but it'd help with the visibility which is a way of creating awareness about the issue.
