A lot of people don’t get the concept of family planning. Some say it is not an Africa man’s thing but I think we wrong about that, it has a lot to play in our families and country too if we all wan a better and promising future we need to start talking and thinking of family planning. Family planning is not all about protecting yourself from being pregnant. So what is family planning?

What is family planning.

Family planning are measures you put in place so as to have a better and healthier family. This measure may be artificial or natural and I will like to add physical and emotional. When I talk of physical I’m talking of material thing such as money, shelter just to name a few. For emotional you can never have a happy family when you stress or having problems running on your mind.
Family plan have much to do with how we manage the spacing between we kids so that both children and parents can all live happily. So I will be talking about so methods in which we start making use of them Africa will be a better place and we will stay healthier than we are now.
In the developed world family planning is common from high school student to elderly people. Family planning is not a woman’s thing it for both men and women,but most of the method are for women.

Family planning methods.

Abstinence

Among all the methods this is the very first which is just being yourself and staying away for sexual activities which is a natural method.

coitus interruptus

This is any other natural method in which you do not release (cum) in the woman’s vagina. This method is not the best because it difficult to be that conscious and not release inside the woman.

LAM(lactational amenorrhea method)

This method is base on extreme breastfeed untill the baby is 6 months old.

Fertility awareness

Here during the fertile period in the menstrual cycle the woman avoid sex so it's base on knowing and follow up of menstrual cycle

condoms ( male and female)

This an artificial method . Which is one of the methods mostly used it has an additional advantage in that it protects against STI and HIV infections.

contraceptive pills

Theses are pills in which the woman takes every day with out skipping a day for it to work properly.

Emergency contraceptive pill

These pills are also called morning after pills. It do work 72 hours after unprotected sex.

Injectable contraceptive

Sayana press

Depo

Under the injectable we have the Depo and sayana press which all have a life span of 3 months.

Contraceptive implants

Jadelle

Implanon

Here we have the jadelle and implanon which jadelle last for 5 year and implanon 3 year.

Conclusion

With the high rate of young girl putting to birth if we try educating them on the importance of family planning I think the number of babies mamas will reduce alot.
Though this method are not 100% safe at least it is above 80% safe.
All drugs do came with side effects this once are not an exception. The main problem you get from using these are ;
Prolong menstrual flow, gain weight due to increase in appetite, change in date of menstrual flow etc.
This is because most of them a made to regulate hormones in the body so as to prevent pregnancy.
Educational talks on the importance of a healthy home in schools, churches and at home to our kids will also help us plan for a better home.
