Considering the wickedness of men and the goodness of God, the Bible says in Matthew 7:11 that, “If you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"1

You know God made everything. The Bible says Everything you see and everything you can’t see. Everything on Earth and in the galaxy. God is the source of every good thing (Ps 24:1). What this means is that you can depend on him.

As you depend on God to meet your everything need, remember these four truths.

1. Every good gift comes from God. You couldn't and you wouldn't earn anything if it is not given you by God. Everything is as a result of God's unmerited favour on you. If God didn’t want you to have it, you wouldn’t even dare to see or know it exist.

Listen to what apostle James said: “Every good and perfect gift is from above [God]” (James 1:17 NIV). Jesus knew this so well that even in teaching his Disciples (us) how to pray He says, "Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11 ESV). Why would Jesus do this? He did because He knows you can’t work for the things God gives you. they are gifts from Him. And no one ever works for a gift.

You can write these things out somewhere to remind yourself every time you are in need please:

2. There is nothing I need that God cannot or will not provide. You know knowledge is something very powerful and we desire to have it at all times, but we are limited in that even the knowledgeable don’t know what he will need tomorrow or the rest of the year or years of his life. This is the peril of knowledge. Whatever that is, one thing I want you to know this morning is this: God has the power to supply your needs.

Philippians 4:19 says: “My God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (NET). By “Glorious riches” apostle Paul means God is so rich in what he provides. His riches can never and will never get finish. This is unlike the rich people we know who are limited in resources. God's resources are unlimited. You can trust Him!

3. God desires to give you everything you need. Jesus said, “If you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11 NIV). You want of the joy of parenting is that meeting the needs of your kids makes you happy. God is not an exception here. He feels happy, meeting your every need.

4. God is patiently waiting on you to ask. You may have needs in your life that are just not changing and you are wondering why, let me say, it may be that God is waiting on you to ask, and haven't asked! The problem with your unmet needs isn’t that God doesn’t want to meet them; it could be that you have not yet asked him to. The Bible says,

“You do not have because you do not ask God” (James 4:2 NIV).

Have you been looking up to someone to meet your needs? Will you mind reconsidering a change of focus today? Look up to God, turn that around today. Trust God to meet your every need.
