Warm greetings to all, i trust that your day is/was a blast. Leaving healthy should be a way of life, unless you have no interest in financial stability because health is wealth. It makes no sense to be wealthy, yet can't enjoy this wealth without suffering from complications. I am here once more with a chain of articles on Living Healthy, with this article being a start.


For this article, we will talk on Different Fruits And Their Benefits. This article shall be broken into two (2) parts

INTRODUCTION


Fruits provide the body with vitamins, minerals, as also essential antioxidants such as Flavonoids. Some fruits such as pineapples also have fibers which aid to ease digestion.
The health benefits gotten from fruits varies with the fruit type. So many different types of fruits exist and most of which are within our vicinity. To attain a max in nutrients derived from fruit consumption, it is wise to have a mixture of many each time you consume. The body gains Antioxidants, Vitamins, and dietary fibers from fruits consumed.

These benefits include weight regulation, healthier skin, eases digestion, reduction in inflammation, minimal chances of developing heart diseases, cancer, and diabetes, etc.

SOME FRUITS AND THEIR BENEFITS

a) Strawberries:

This fruit has lots of water within its components and contains lots of mineral and vitamins. Its seeds are made up of fibers which greatly contributes to ease digestion. They also contain health boosters (like flavonoids), as well as potassium (in the seed fibers), which can help boost the health chances of the heart.
This fruit can be eaten raw, blended into smoothie drinks, added in yogurt, or better still used to make berry jams.
Just like many other colourful berries, strawberries contain a quercetin (a flavonoid), which is a natural anti-inflammatory compound. They also contain niacin, folate, thiamin, riboflavin, and vitamins A, K and B-6



b) Blackberries:

All berries contain Anthocyanins (health boosters), and as such, blackberries aren't exempted. They also have high fiber contents in their seeds, and as such, improve heart health and gut health. It can also be eaten raw, added to yogurt, served as dessert, blended into smoothie, etc.



c) Blueberries:

Blueberries also contain anthocyanin (health boosters), which are antioxidants As such, a minimal in development of heart diseases, cancers, and other diseases is attained. They also contain Pterostilbene, a compound that may help prevent plaque from clustering in the arteries.
Just like the other berries, it can be eaten fresh. It can also be frozen and/or blended into smoothies and jams, added in cereals, desserts, yogurt, etc.



d) Lemons:

The lemon fruit is used in many local herbal drinks due to its numerous health benefits. It is a citrus fruit, and as such, contains vitamin C and many other antioxidants which are relevant for a healthy body.
Antioxidants clean up free radicals within the body. Free radicals are capable of damaging our body's cells paving the way for diseases (such as cancers).
It is believed and scientifically realized that flavonoids in lemon and other citrus fruits contain anticancer, antibacterial and antidiabetic properties. Lemons contain niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, thiamin, riboflavin, and vitamin A.
It can be consumed as a flavored drink, mixed in boiling water and a teaspoon of honey to treat sore throat, squeezed on salad or fish to add flavor. The peels can be used in recipes.



e) Limes:

Limes are sour citrus fruits that come with so many benefits healthwise. They also have a health dose of vitamin C, antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
The Lime fruit is tasty in savory foods. Its peels can also be added to salad or rice dishes, to modify the decoration and add flavor. It could also be squeezed into warm or cold water to attain a flavored drink.
