Steem Cameroon Contest - My Short Movie Script: Cartoon Animation (Managing Community Domestic Trash)

Greetings beautiful people am glad to be here to participate in this all time amazing contest.

Am writing this contest with the hints given.

What do we understand by "Domestics trash"? How Do you manage your Trash?

Domestic trash is the organic and inorganic waste that accumulates from our daily living and the activities in our house holds. These waste products comes about as we go to the market and shops to buy things we consumes daily through eating, drinking cooking and etc.

These wastes ranges food food wastes to plastic waste, paper wastes etc. These trash are meant to be manage properly else they may pose a nuisance to the environment. I mange my trash by bagging them and disposing them on the community local dump site where further sorting and treatment is done on them.

The scene opens up with the sight of a beautiful lagoon In Abidjan Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast is in west Africa. The morning rising sun was smiling down in all its beauty in this beautiful body of water on which all manner of living things find expression in.

It’s one of those beautiful water bodies in Ivory Coast which was a hub of it activities when it was the talk of town but as we speak the body body lay lone and deserted as a woman who lost her husband.

And on this morning standing on the banks of this one e adored lagoon was Me Eric baker. Eric baker was a French businessman man who was in love with this body for d water and often visited it for his quiet times and to have a lovely view.

He wasn’t impressed with what the banks of this once beautiful water body has turned into. On the banks of this water body was massive piles of plastic bottles. It seem the water has turned to a dumping site of empty plastic water bottles from all corners of the city.

It wasn’t a beautiful site to behold. There was so much plastic bottles on the water banks. My Eric stood thinking of a way to clean the water and at the same time make good use of the massive trash cans which seem to be growing everyday. Just while he stood thinking, he had an idea.

Mr Eric had also loved tourism and he had to looking forward to building a tourist center that would attract people from near and far in Ivory Coast. He had the idea to build a floating island resort from this piles of water bottles on the lagoon bank.

It was the weirdest idea ever and he couldn’t wait to share it with his wife. When he told his wife, she didn’t think it was a feasible idea. How on earth do you want to make an island out of trash? she queried.

Mr Backer was determined and shared the idea with an engineer, MR Marco who after careful consideration encouraged him to go ahead and give it a try and promised to work with him whenever he was ready. He went to share the idea with the governor of the state because he needed the permission to embark on a project like that. The governor felt he wasn’t serious but still gave him the benefit of doubt by granting him the permission to proceed with the project.

Mr Backer began by collecting the empty plastic trash from the lagoon bank. There was so many of them. He collected 700,000 empty plastics and it took him six years to do that. The neighboring community people were wondering what he was doing with all the trash cans he was collecting. It became so serious that they made mockery of him and started calling him plastic bottles as a mock name but he didn’t mind. He knew what he wanted and nothing could deter him.

Then he bagan the building of his dream plastic resort with Mr Marco and other engineers by placing the bottles in boxes and nailing them with wood. The used those boxed plastic bottles to build the first ever floating island resort made of plastic bottles and wood in Ivory Coast. The name of this resort is called L’le Flottante Resort built in 2019.

It has rooms, bar, restaurant and two swimming pools. It’s powered through solar hence it’s eco friendly. This resorts attracts over 100 visitors from all parts of the world every week and especially during weekends. It rents for about $100 a night. It’s not just popular for its great architectural structure but for the fact that it was made out of trash; plastic bottles.
