Value Comes From Within

To be able to draw maximum benefit from the potentials in you, you must first place a considerable amount of value for it. As a matter of fact, if the purpose of something is not determined, then it may be abused. There is a measure of potentials deposited into everyone but it will remain just potentials until value is placed on you. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise, you have a purpose to fulfil.

No one can successfully take away what is in you until they have succeeded in making you lose value in them. Once your potentials lose value in your sight, then you cannot draw benefits from them. You are not just designed as a substitute but a major player and you must appreciate that and start to place value on yourself.

For others to value you, you should first learn to place value on yourself. There is a particular adage in the southeast part of Nigeria that explains that "if someone uses his best plate to pack refuse, someone else will do the same with the plate". What this means is; if you place less value on what you have, do not expect someone else to place value on it.

The same way you place value on yourself is how other people will do. Knowing your value and quality is key to success. If you buy something for $20 for example, and then buy another thing for $500, which article will you place more value on? Obviously the one with higher price. This is exactly what happens when you build up yourself, your value will automatically increased and people's attention will be shifted towards you.

Knowing your self-worth and placing value on yourself is not pride, it is simply knowing that you are a class of your own and not just a "spare tyre". Anyone that always makes you feel inferior or less of yourself is not your friend and you should stay clear from them. If your association does not affect your net-worth positively, then it is not worth it.

Belittling yourself is not humility, you should know the difference. You can be very humble and still have maximum value for yourself. Try to keep away from anything or anyone that belittles you, because they are not helping you to grow yourself.

The truth is, there are many people's successes that are tied to your own success and failing will also mean them failing. So you cannot afford to fail. However, to succeed, you must believe you can, and this begins with placing value on what is in you.
