It's never too late to start over.
8 years ago, there's nothing you could have told an 20 years agter not getting an admission in her choice of university. Not when she's filled with desperation, almost verging on depression and anxious thought. Not when her peers were living their lives to the fullest.
One of the major thing I've had to start over was writing Admission exams over and over again until I was tired but then I had to give it one more try knowing that it's not over until we say it is.
After writing the exams thrice, I almost lost hope. Then I would hide when I see my friends coming around, give them excuses not to care me or visit them. I thought, why would they want to see me? Not when they were in their penultimate year in school.
Insecurity kicked in, the little voices in your head telling you that you're not good enough to hang out with them anymore.
At one point, I wanted to tell my parents there was no need to continue wasting money trying to gain admission over and over again without any success.
The one thing I regret now is not using that time to learn a good skill, use the opportunity to build my career instead of letting the frustration get the best of me. The frustration at failing exams no matter how hard I prepare for it.
It was at this time that I got into full time writing, which served as a therapeutic session for me.
A time I could pour out my heart without fear or backlash.
I then realized that I want to late to prepare and write another exams, who knows what will happen?
That renew energy fuelled the decisions I made onward.
Probably it was the change in my mindset that made all the difference, but I went for the next exams prepared to take whatever they throw at me head on without flinching.
And Guess what? It did work!!! I got in. Studied my dream course and using it to build a solid personal brand where I get paid to write for people.
In the end, you never know if the results you are looking for is just by taking one step further.
I invite @suryati, @pandacha and @beevicsam to participate in this contest.
My dear, don't give up. Speak and confess positive words. Don't tell your parents what you had in mind but make them know and see to power you have to write the exam and succeed.
Knowledge is power. Get the right materials that will make you focus more and you will make it when you determine with commitment and trust God to do the rest for you.
