Hola diariolectores, este día experimente una labor que nunca habria imaginado que fuera tan ruda, un amigo me invito a que lo acompañara en el proceso de extracción de sal natural de una de las lagunas de sal en la peninsula, yo le había preguntado a mi amigo llamado chuchi qué estaba haciendo para subsistir en el pueblo y me dijo que entre tantas cosas sale a pescar a veces, otras veces saca camarones o gallitos para vender como carnada a los pescadores pero esta semana estaba vendiendo sal con su amigo wesero que sacaban ellos mismo, un trabajo duro pero que le generaba un ingreso extra, es ahí donde me hace la invitación ya que ando pasando unos días en el pueblo visitando a mi papa con mi familia.
Hello diaryreaders, this day I experienced a task that I would never have imagined would be so rough, a friend invited me to accompany him in the process of extracting natural salt from one of the salt lagoons on the peninsula, I had asked my a friend named chuchi what was he doing to survive in the town and he told me that among so many things he goes fishing sometimes, other times he takes out shrimp or cockerels to sell as bait to the fishermen but this week he was selling salt with his wesero friend who they took out Itself, a hard job but that generated an extra income, that is where he invites me since I am spending a few days in town visiting my father with my family.
Entonces comenzamos nuestro recorrido a la laguna de sal de “Guaranache” que queda a 10 minutos aproximadamente del pueblo “El guamache”, el sol estaba en la hora justa pero como les dije, la brisa constante disimula bastante el calor. Chuchi y Wesero estaban activadisimos y venian contandome de todo un poco.
Then we began our journey to the "Guaranache" salt lagoon, which is approximately 10 minutes from the town "El guamache", the sun was at the right time but as I told you, the constant breeze quite conceals the heat. Chuchi and Wesero were very active and they came telling me a little about everything.
Esta carretera es la que divide el mar de la salina, por ella se desplazan los vehículos para bordear la laguna de sal, cabe acotar que esta laguna no está operativa, está abandonada y los que quedan extrayendo lo hacen de manera informal e ilegal.

Prácticamente mediante la realización de este proceso no había nadie pendiente ni lejos ni cerca, estábamos en una especie de desierto de un pueblo sin leyes, es increíble que esta vez porque yo lleve a chuchi y a wesero en mi carro, pero tomando en cuenta lo que caminan nada mas hasta llegar al sitio se nota que les gusta trabajar.
Practically by carrying out this process there was no one pending either far or near, we were in a kind of desert of a town without laws, it is incredible that this time because I took Chuchi and Wesero in my car, but taking into account what They just walk until they reach the site, it shows that they like to work.
Llegamos al sitio donde dejamos el carro estacionado y caminamos hasta el punto exacto de laguna donde estaba la capa de sal especial para ser sacada con el azadón. Aquí de fondo se observan un grupo de pescadores calando y también se observa la carretera dividiendo el mar de la laguna.

Ahora llegamos caminando al otro extremo y ahí es donde está la capa que ellos dicen que es la precisa para la extracción porque rasparon con el azadón y la sal salió como nieve, bueno como se ve la nieve en las películas porque yo nunca he visto la nieve jejeje. Las piedras que se ven en orden sirven de escaleras para llegar hasta la parte más sólida de sal, porque a la orilla es muy débil y debajo es fango. Si no caminas por esas piedras te entierras en el fango.
Now we are walking to the other end and that is where the layer is that they say is the precise one for the extraction because they scraped with the hoe and the salt came out like snow, well how you see snow in the movies because I have never seen the snow hehehe. The stones that are seen in order serve as stairs to reach the most solid part of salt, because it is very weak on the shore and below it is mud. If you don't walk on those stones, you bury yourself in the mud.
Los muchachos comenzaron con la labor del raspado de la capa de sal e iban amontonando y después la van llenando en tobos con las manos evitando cortarse con los filos de la sal y caminan por las piedras a la orilla y vierten en un sitio donde va a irse escurriendo el agua y va quedando blanquita la sal, bella y limpiecita, el proceso de escurrirse es un poco lento, muchas veces lo dejan de un día para otro para que quede bien sequita.
The boys began with the work of scraping the layer of salt and they were piling it up and then filling it in tufts with their hands, avoiding cutting themselves with the edges of the salt and walking along the stones to the shore and pouring it into a place where they will drain off the water and the salt becomes white, beautiful and clean, the draining process is a bit slow, many times they leave it overnight to make it dry.
Por cada saco que quieran llenar deben sacar mínimo 3 cuñetes de sal mojada a escurrir, es decir si quieren sacar 6 sacos de sal tienen que extraer 20 tobos de sal, es fácil decirlo pero difícil trabajarlo.
For each bag that they want to fill, they must take out at least 3 cans of wet salt to drain, that is, if they want to take out 6 bags of salt they have to extract 20 tubes of salt, it is easy to say but difficult to work with.
Perdí varias fotos porque me puse a ayudarlos y es increíble la textura del agua por la concentración de sal, no se secan fácilmente las manos y no quise usar más el teléfono, en momentos el agua daba la sensación de ser como un ligero aceite, como aceite de bebés. imaginen lo lejos que estabamos de la via que la linea que se ve en el horizonte es la carretera donde estaba parado el carro, y hasta alla es donde cargan los muchachos la sal.
Perdí varias fotos porque me puse a ayudarlos y es increíble la textura del agua por la concentración de sal, no se secan fácilmente las manos y no quise usar más el teléfono, en momentos el agua daba la sensación de ser como un ligero aceite, como aceite de bebés. imaginen lo lejos que estabamos de la via que la linea que se ve en el horizonte es la carretera donde estaba parado el carro, y hasta alla es donde cargan los muchachos la sal.
Luego que se escurre esa sal se comienza la labor de llenar los sacos y amarrarlos bien porque viene otra parte difícil que es llevar los sacos hasta afuera en la vía donde dejamos el carro, insisto no es un trabajo fácil. Los sacos con aproximadamente 60 kilos al hombro en una caminata de diez minutos hasta llegar a la vía no es nada fácil. En esta foto se observa a chuchi y a wesero que van haciendo el primer viaje con los sacos de sal.
After that salt is drained, the work of filling the bags and tying them well begins because another difficult part comes, which is carrying the bags out on the road where we left the car, I insist it is not an easy job. Así hicieron 3 viajes cada uno para traer sus sacos los cuales venden en 3 dólares cada saco, independientemente que no estén utilizando más que la fuerza física ya que la laguna está ahí libre y prácticamente es regalada la sal, el proceso de extracción es muy delicado y forzado por el beneficio económico que deja, pero es una manera que tienen los amigos para subsistir el día a día en el pueblo y llevar el alimento a sus casas. en el ultimo viaje yo fui caminando a esperarlos en el carro mientras ellos venían con su ultima carga.
So they made 3 trips each to bring their bags, which they sell for $ 3 each bag, regardless of whether they are using more than physical strength since the lagoon is there free and the salt is practically given away, the extraction process is very delicate and forced by the economic benefit that it leaves, but it is a way that friends have to subsist the day to day in the town and bring food to their homes. On the last trip I was walking to wait for them in the car while they came with their last load.
Este día me dejo una reflexión importante, muchas veces subestimamos las labores porque las vemos simples pero hay que vivirlas en carne viva para saber cuánto cuesta cada bolívar que se genera con sudor y sacrificio, mis respetos para este par de amigos chuchi y wesero.
This day I leave an important reflection, many times we underestimate the tasks because we see them simple but you have to live them raw to know how much each bolivar that is generated with sweat and sacrifice costs, my respects for this pair of Chuchi and Wesero friends.
