My Actifit Report Card: December 26 2023

We all slept in a bit late this morning, but I had no particular plans in place for today other than to go out to the forest for a relaxing hike.

We had the chance to walk with our good friends on our morning loop and the people enjoyed sharing our Christmas weekend experiences while Lulu ran around.
After all my digging the past few days I figured just going on a hike would great. We parked up at the gated end of a private (but public accessible) dirt road up above Lynx Creek and then headed down to the upper end of the creek near where the old mines used to smelt there ore but now nothing remains of those old operations.

This section of the creek is much more rugged and narrow with the large outcrops making the hike a challenge at times but the views were great. The higher elevation and frigid night had frozen much of the water on the creek which surprised Lulu when she tried to take a sip.
Thus area isn't visited that much except by intrepid hikers so we enjoyed the solitude as the sun lit up the ravine.


We hiked down 2 miles until we were at our usual prospecting area where we chatted with a couple of friends before heading back upstream to complete our hike



We ended up with a bit over 4 miles of rugged hiking but it was fun for us both and the tranquility was wonderful (although Lulu would have liked to have had some squirrels to chase).
