Under the three

The Goddess of Death Lilith was a goddess feared even by other gods. No one dared to approach him, much less talk to him. Rumors circulated that he had always confined himself to his realm, struggling with crazy things.
The inhabitants of the God Realm often talked about Dewi Lilith, to be more precise, gossiping about the goddess.

However, everything changed when they learned of the fact that Goddess Lilith began to visit the Yggdrasil Tree, the sacred tree where the God of Life Aleister resides. They began to assume that Goddess Lilith wanted to kill God Aleister, considering that the two were completely opposite in nature.

No one knows, if in fact Lilith wanted to meet Aleister only because of her love. I don't know how long he had feelings for the God of Life, but Aleister loved all living things without exception. Lilith wanted Aleister's attention to be focused solely on her.

“Aleister,” Lilith approached Aleister who was leaning on the Yggdrasil Tree.
Aleister's voice sounded faint in Lilith's head, “Oh, Lilith. You visited me again, thank you.”
Lilith sat beside the god, then brought her face closer, “Aleister, tell me more about the human story!”
"Okay," Aleister agreed.

During the story, Aleister's body, which was clad in white clothing and dazzling light, never once changed from its original position. His eyes remained closed as if sleeping. He can only communicate between thoughts, because he can't even open his mouth.

“And both ended happily… done,” Aleister finished.

Lilith smiled, "Hey, can we both be like the lovers in that story?"
The God of Life replied, “No way, Lilith. If you and I are not around, then who will take care of the cycle of life?”
"Surely there will be a replacement for us, the new gods," said Lilith casually. "Besides, aren't you tired of just sitting around for decades in a tree in order to maintain the balance of life in the world, protecting them?"
“This is my job. I will not move from this place prematurely.”
“You need freedom, Aleister.”
“I have given up my freedom, Lilith.”
Lilith heard the sadness in Aleister's voice, but the god covered it with a stern tone.

“You know what, Aleister? The souls of the beings you have raised, their lives all end in me. You should hate me because I ate your hard-earned.”
"I can't hate you. You're just doing what you're supposed to do,” Aleister replied.
Lilith caressed the god's white mane carefully, then whispered in his ear, “I will give you freedom. Just you wait, Aleister.”

Right after that meeting, Lilith never visited him again. In all the centuries Aleister had waited, he had never seen her figure. Wanted to find it, he couldn't. Wanted to ask other gods, but no one approached the tree.
It was then that he realized that life in the world had changed. Humans began to study the taboo magic that made sentient beings immortal; can't die. The cycle of life stops, no one is born, no one dies.
Instead of being balanced, it becomes stagnant.

Aleister had no idea what had happened. Suddenly he could move his body. The tree sheds its leaves and slowly falls. The god rose to his feet, approached the other gods for information.
Ah no. He had to find Lilith first.

“Lilith, where are you, Lilith?!”
Aleister saw the thick dark fog and lunged at it. If it was true that the mist was the entrance to Lilith's realm, then–

"Lilith!"
How surprised Aleister was when he found the goddess starting to blur her figure, her legs had even disappeared.
“Oh, Aleister…” the beautiful goddess whispered.
“What happened, why all of a sudden–?” Aleister was about to flood him with questions, but Lilith grabbed his face with both hands, carefully observing the god's usually sleeping face.
"I promised, didn't I?"
“What promise–”
“Aah, look. You are even more handsome than usual, Aleister. You're also able to move freely…”
Aleister grabbed Lilith's wrist, “This isn't what I wanted, Lilith,” he croaked.
Lilith shook her head, “You need it.”

Aleister's grip loosened as the goddess's hand had disappeared up to the elbow. He hastily embraced his body, and declared,
“I will go with you, disappearing into nothingness, emptiness. Nothing, nothing. Because all I want is to be with you, Lilith.”
“Aleister, don't! If you disappear, all life in the world will repeat itself from the beginning! All my efforts, my efforts to give you freedom–”
Aleister tightened his embrace and caressed the goddess' black strands, then said, “All this time you have been eating the fruits of my labors, can't I just be in your position for once?” he asked with a chuckle. His own body had also started to disappear.
Lilith couldn't help but laugh at her reply. At the same time, he shed tears of joy.

Maybe this is the best ending?

Lilith had time to think whether they could be reincarnated someday, meet again and establish a relationship with each other. Like the human stories that Aleister often told.

The two of them disappeared together, all that was left was a drop of Lilith's tear that fell.

“Hey, look! This tree is very big, like it just gives off the aura of a mystical tree," said a girl to her friend.
"Yeah, it looks like our trip here to see this big tree was not in vain," replied another girl.

“Oh, yeah, why did you suddenly say you wanted to go here, anyway? Even though we can wait for a long vacation.”
“Hmm, for some reason I'm just interested in visiting him. It feels nostalgic.”
“Your excuses sound a bit sinister.”
“Yes, yes! Forget what I said earlier, let's take some pictures!”

The two girls also prepared their camera equipment. When the black-haired girl stood up after adjusting the camera, she accidentally bumped into someone walking behind her.
“Ouch, sorry! Are you okay?"
“Ah, I was also at fault for not looking around while walking, sorry.”

The girl then stood still in front of the man who seemed familiar to her. The man also felt the same way.

"La, let's take a photo!" Call the girl friend.
"Yeah, just a minute!" He rushed over to his friend, before the man grabbed his hand.
"Sorry if I'm being rude, but may I know your name? My name is Allistor."
“Uh, um, my name is Lyla. Greetings. I have to go first, my friend is calling!”
Allistor smiled as he let go of his grip, "Sorry to bother you," then he turned and looked at the big tree with a sad look.
