SEC-S18W4 | My worst holiday travel memory | [unforgettable experience].

It's another week of the Steemit engagement challenge for week 4 and I'm happy to share my entry in the contest which is titled My worst holiday travel memory.

The worst trip I would like to forget is the trip I went to Lagos Nigeria from Akwanga a local government in Nasarawa State Nigeria. It was a night journey because the bus we entered always travel mostly during the night.
It was a journey of about 3 years ago and the memory of the journey is still very fresh on my head. We set out for the journey at exactly 7:00 p.m, on a Friday night with the intention of arriving Lagos at least on Sunday morning but the case was never as planned.
The journey was a journey filled with both men and women and their children as well. It was a journey to remember and I wish I can just forget about it. But anytime I close my eyes I still see everything very fresh as through it was just yesterday.

There are two major problems that we faced that very day and the first was the our bus broke down in the middle of no where without having a mechanical or engineer close by to fix it so we had to wait for more than two hours before a mechanical came and after spending about an hour the bus was fixed and we continued the journey.
The next incid not we had was the attack from armed robbers. We had an encounter with armed robbers who collected all our phones and the little money were caring with us. Some girls also got raped because they didn't have money or anything to offer to the armed robbers.
It was a long night as this happened around 11:30 p.m, we stayed in the scene for more than 2 hours without the intervention from the police or any security agencies. The joy is that we didn't lose anyone on that very day but every one was trumatized based on the urgly incident. Everone was deeply affected.

We were able to advice and encourage each other to move ahead because we didn't know the faces of those who carried out the act. We all bless God that they didn't kill anyone during the robbery incident. For those who were raped we immediately took them to nearby hospital for a proper check up and medication.
Showing concern for each other made everyone to feel better because the incident was really a bad experience but because of the love care and support we gave to each other everyone feel happy and then we later continued the journey because we never agreed to live anyone behind since we were in to the conditions together.

Like I have said earlier, our phone and every technological device including wristwatch was collected from us so I don't have any picture that shows this incident. Though I have sourced an image showing how stranded we were after the entire incident.
It was a terrible experience that no one in his right frame of mind will want even his enemies to encounter. So despite how long it has been I still have this incident recorded clearly on my mind. I wish I could just forget about it.

Dear, I am sickened to hear about your bad travel experience. Apart from losing money and mobile phones to the hands of the robbers, the worst was rape of the girls. Luckily you were not hurt. This happens in our country too. But you all helped each other. Good luck to you.

Saludos amigo esto que compartes fue una verdadera tragedia primero el autobús se le averió un neumático y luego fueron asaltados y les robaron prácticamente todo pero lo peor y más aberrante fue la violación a las chicas pobre de ellas por fortuna nadie murió solo el triste recuerdo para las chicas violadas
Friend, your journey was very scary. I got goosebumps just thinking about how you must have faced that scary moment. It was very bad for all of you. All of you supported each other, took care of each other. What should I say, I have no words. What kind of people are there on this earth, who ruin people's lives. Only one word comes out for such people, demons.
Nawa oo! I could have imagined the trauma you guys went through watching those armed robbers harassing you guys. This is the major reason why I hate night journeys because if anything should happen, you won't even know where to run to. Thank God no Life was lost because life comes first in everything.
