#TRAVEL My Weekly Powerup | #club100 | Sunset at Cap Malheureux, Mauritius | #steemexclusive / 3 photos
Been so busy with work so it will be a short post to powerup. This place is located at the northern tip of Mauritius – an island in the Indian Ocean. It's one of my favourite places to watch the sun set, so I have been here many times. The name Cap Malhereux means something like “unlucky cape”. The name might have an explanation that goes a couple of hundred years back. The island was for the period 1710 – 1810 under French rule. After that the British became the colonial rulers. The way they gained control was to attack the French at Cap Malhereux. They did this as a surprise attack and defeated the French. The place might have got its name because of the unluck on the Frensh side.

Thanks a lot! Much appreciated @o1eh :))
Hello traveler! 👋🏼@digi-me, nice to see you in a place close to my country that I have visited twice. This entire area in this region was under British, Portuguese, or French in the last few centuries so Mauritius was no exception.
