Hello all,
This is my entry to the contest, My Memorable Trip In Childhood. The contest is organized by @travelingsteem. It is an excellent opportunity to participate in this contest.
Thanks to my parents, I could have many memorable trips in my childhood. It was great to visit all over the country with family members, and it was great to have such experiences at a very young age in the country. All these visits made me a fan of Sri Lankan history.
Sri Dhaladha Maligawa
So, my memorable trip was to "Sri Dhaladha Maligawa," famous as "The Temple of the Tooth" among foreigners. It is an ancient palace of the king. Later, it became a temple complex with many Buddhist religious buildings, and it is considered the most precious place in Sri Lanka. There are many Stupas, Dharma Shala (Places where you can sit and hear Buddha teachings), Dewala (Places where we can worship several Hindu gods), and Bodhi (The tree worshiped by Buddhist people).
Also, the two museums are significant to people who like to learn about Buddhist culture and civilization. One of these is an international museum where we can learn about many countries' Buddhist cultures and civilizations.

You mention "Shra Dhalada Maligawa" or "Temple of the Tooth" as a memorable childhood outing. We all love outings as children. However, in most cases, children visit different parks or malls. However, your family took you on a trip to a place where religious knowledge awakened within you.
Because, in the place you can learn about worship, Buddha culture and history which will help you to develop as a righteous and ethical person.
I didn't know anything about Sri Dhalada Maligawa Temple before. Thank you so much for sharing your post to inform me about an important place in Sri Lanka.
