SEC S10W1: A gift to myself

Hi community friends, it is another brand new week with the start of SEC season 10 series. My pleasure to participate in the community for a season start.

Just as the intro of this contest said, we are engaged with the task of catering to the different issues and obligations of life like school, shelter, clothing, feeding, etc. But one is a phenomenon about this topic vis-a-vis how we take care of ourselves in particular. And with all sincerity, the male gender has been seen relegated to the background of this clarion demand.

The male gender is usually caught handling most of these basic needs and other obligations but hardly remembers that as an individual, there was a need for a treat and gifting for oneself. It is nice most of us in this gender category would be making our entries and as well may drive consciousness about self-gifting. On a lighter note, the women may not also be left out in this conscious drive to gift themselves.

What gift would you give yourself?

I am not a materialistic kind of a person and however, most of those demands within my level are in place without any much appetite to dwell more in them. At this point in writing, I have an expected gift for myself which is to Fund my Post Graduate Studies abroad. It has been demanding but this remains one gift I call well deserving and satisfying if achieved now.

It is one gift I have found to be top of my priorities as this would bring about career advancement, better job placement,
professional engagements, and also a better source of livelihood. Therefore, this means a life investment to me though quite expensive or capital intensive.

Would owning it make your life easier? Tell us the reason

This preferred self-gift to me is more of an investment just as lastly stated. Affording this offer would be a game-changer for me. This would not only take my career to another higher stage in life but add value to all my engagements. I am an Agricultural Economist by study and a Sales professional by career, which makes me a mixed breed of many skills.

I am conversant with operational, administrative, Sales, and Customer Care services. Furthering my career abroad in any of the "MBAs" or "Economics and Finance for Development" would be a booster for me.

This will certainly create meaningful growth for me and in turn, provide the needed funds for the overall attainment of life expectations conveniently.

How much does this gift cost in your country? You can take the price to steem

The cost of gaining an offer for postgraduate studies abroad may not be anywhere priced less except for those on scholarship. Otherwise stated, this comes with the locations as well as colleges/universities involve. But from my experience, some of the educational institutions have made their payments a lot easier with installment payments coming to the rescue of the common man.

With this, the minimum tuition deposit and other requirements like visa fees, accommodation, living expenses, and flight fees would amount to about $10,000. This is a price that represents at least 50% tuition fee obligation. Since the student is expected to work for a limited weekly number of hours, and hence this can handle the other balance requirements.

Therefore, with the recent monetary policies in place to harmony the exchange rates, $10,000 would be worth about 7,200,000 NGN which also represents about 55,813.95 STEEM..

Does steemit help you save for what you want so much?

The level of support has been on the low for some time now, and this makes achieving this value a difficult one. The value of my present steem vis-a-vis the market price makes this journey a more difficult one to achieve in a stretch.

The 6,500 steem with an estimated $1,500 value is still a long journey in achieving the dream gift going by the level of support received solely from Booming or other smaller community curators.

What other gifts have you given yourself before?

Other gifts aside this anticipated one I've gifted myself may likely be the basic needs of life which are clothing, feeding, and shelter. Other outside this basic human need include purchasing my work gadgets which are a Laptop, a Smart Mobile device, and a Car.

These are gifts I presumed to be necessary as they play major roles in either guaranteeing the efficiency of service delivery or source of side incomes as the case may be.
