Friendships are sustained with regular communications. You can't be a friend to someone if you don't talk to each other to be able to feel the person's natural voice, see the person's face and interact with the person.

We all have friends both far and near and good enough, steemit has made us form great friendships. Some of whom we might have met and spoke with and majority of whom we haven't met even for the first time and may not even have the opportunity of meeting them due to where they are.

But what a joy to know that technology has made the world a global village where we can meet virtually, Interact and transact as though we were living together and best of all with a high level of trust. I can tell you that most people have made great friendships that are far away whom they can call close friends via these means.

I am not left out dear friends. This particular engagement challenge contest is going to bring to light various means of communicating with our friends. I have done mine.

My interview

Steps

First, I drafted some questions that I would like to get answers to from my friend

Then I sent them to her via WhatsApp

Screenshot_20240126-025011.jpgthe drafted questions

I waited for her to respond to the questions and sent to me

Then I told her that we're going to hold a video call section via Whatsapp video call where she can orally supply the answers to those questions. But the network was so bad that we couldn't have achieved anything if we were to hold that interview section via that means. So,, as a friend, I needed to see her smile, talk to me, while I also talk. It was a great idea to just hear her voice.

And so, ladies and gentlemen, I was able to successfully achieve all that I wanted from my dear friend, @patjewell, who lives far away from me. I haven't met her in my life time for once but I bet you that she is more than a friend to me. This is not the first time I have been interacting with her. We have had several interactions via video calls. This particular one is so special. It was really an awesome moment for both of us.

To enable you all actually see her smiling face, hear her golden voice and see how gorgeous the woman who has contributed so much to this wonderful ecosystem looks, I used my device screen recorder to record our conversation and uploaded it on my utube channel. Here below is the link to that convention that is just for the exchange of pleasantries, you won't want to miss it dear friends!

And then, below are the structured questions and her responses

IMG-20220913-WA0013.jpg

Ngoenyi👉A quick introduction of yourself

PatjewellWell, as you know, I am from a country at the bottom of Africa called South Africa. Currently, I am living at the coast in a town called Dolphin Coast. How appropriate is that for Steemit?
The town is also known as Balitto.

I am the mother of two, a son and a daughter. I have also been blessed with what I call two “love children” and awesome grandchildren, of which the youngest is only two months old.

I am supposed to be retired, but I am still a businesswoman, plus I have discovered what it is to be an “executive housewife.”

IMG-20220913-WA0013.jpg

Ngoenyi👉What's your experience with Steemit?

PatjewellWhen I joined in 2016, it was like “Greek” to me. The term “crypto currency” was just something I could not grasp. How can you have earnings when it is something you cannot touch? Best of all, I could not understand where the “money” comes from that you are paid for your posts. After a Steemit seminar, I slowly started to understand the concept behind Steemit, and I got more excited. Unfortunately, not so much that it didn’t stop me from not writing posts.

It was with a push from my husband, after he discovered I had some earnings in my Steemit account, that I returned in full force. This time, I had the time and the excitement to make a success of it.

That was also when I started to experience the shear brilliance of Steemit, the Steem4Nigeria community that welcomed me with open arms. You my friend, I have to thank you for the effort you have put into me. For answering those zillions of questions I had and for steering me in the right direction.

I have experienced how to share, how to build relationships with people that you don’t know from a bar of soap, what little it takes to encourage people to give their best, and that we are all humans with different backgrounds and situations.

I have experienced how Steemians depend on their Steemit earnings, how Steemit has improved the quality of life of many Steemians, and how Steemians stand together, helping others in their time of need.

Best of all, I have experienced, and I am still experiencing, how awesome it is to help others on their Steemit journey.

I’ve also experienced the true meaning of not giving up.

IMG-20220913-WA0013.jpg

Ngoenyi👉Would you encourage anyone to join Steemit?

PatjewellThere is only one word to answer this question… YES!

Ngoenyi👉Your achievements and goals

PatjewellI lived a full life with many achievements. I could further my education; I was a businesswoman and I served on various executive boards. I have won numerous awards, I have traveled the world, and I am a mother. I am truly blessed.

I am not young anymore, therefore I am happy with what I have achieved in life, and what remains now is to reflect back, enjoy the memories of those achievements, and give thanks to my Heavenly Father for keeping His hands over me.

I only have one goal, and that is to live life to the fullest so that I can be the best ME.

IMG-20220913-WA0013.jpg

Ngoenyi👉Your suggestions to all Steemians about growth

PatjewellThere are plenty of Steemians that know the saying I live by: “Keep on posting, keep on voting, keep on commenting, and keep on powering up. These are the four main keys on Steemit if you want to grow.

Steemit, for me, is not about myself; it goes about helping others. If you can help others, you will discover the joy of Steemit. Gone will be the days that you sit staring at your screen, looking for those votes. Things will start falling into place for you; just be patient.

Here are some screenshots I took while the interactions were going on

Screenshot_20240125-123348.jpgScreenshot_20240125-123525.jpg

Why did you choose that person?

✓Because she is my friend.

✓She is a woman with a heart of gold

✓She is always there for me at all times

✓She has impacted the lives of so many here on the blog

✓She is a woman that has successfully grown steem ladies community with passion

✓She is a steem representative who is worthy of emulation

✓She goes extra miles to assist others.

✓The list goes on and on

✓She understands my English, lols!

It is amazing that despite handling so many things off chain, coupled with the challenges of life, she is still very active and making great contributions here on the blog. I can say that I have a lot to still learn from her.

Like she said, steemit is not just about seating down and waiting for that vote to drop, it is about being consistent and assisting others to grow.

Do you think it's important to relate to other people at Steemit?

If I have my way, I will interview and interact with everyone here on the blog. Infact, my journey has just begun. I will like to take it up from here to start to interact with others more fully. We are more than friends here on the blog. We are family. We might have had times when we had disagreements, but like families, we make up and keep going again.

Indeed, this section is great. I commend @ubongudofot for the efforts in conducting this interview showcase. I can see that he puts in a lot to come up with this weekly showcase.

I am therefore inviting @drhira @yolvijrm @irawandedy @inspiracion and @goodybest to join this contest. The post is here in case you missed it. Success to you all.

Hello, @ngoenyi! 🌟

What an exciting experience you share in your interview with @patjewell! The connection and friendship you have formed through Steemit are truly inspiring. Technology has indeed turned the world into a global village, as you rightly point out, allowing us to interact and connect with people from different parts of the world.

It's wonderful to see how you've used different forms of communication to maintain and strengthen that friendship. The idea of having a video call to hear her voice and see her smile, despite technical difficulties, shows your commitment and the importance you place on that connection.

The interview itself reveals the richness of @patjewell's experiences on Steemit. Her journey from the early days, grappling with the concept of cryptocurrencies, to becoming an active and valuable part of the community is fascinating. Especially, her dedication to helping others on their Steemit journey is admirable.

The conclusion about Steemit growth is valuable and applicable to all steemians. Staying active, interacting, and, above all, helping others are key to growth on the platform.

Thank you for this detailed response to my entry. You have just taken time to read in-between the lines of my entry and this is quite commendable.

I agree with you that the interview reveals the richness of her experience.

I can't also wait to hold another section of this interview. Thank you once again

I have always been at the background watching @patjewell. She is a woman made of gold, with a good heart, and always grateful for whatever little thing you do for her. I have learnt a lot from her too.

Age is not a barrier but an advantage. She has taught me to always make wise use of it. Her words are full of wisdom.

@ngoenyi, this interview is simply great and among this best. Hope you will do more of this with many that are out to lend a helping hand to others unselfishly.

Wish you the best in this contest.

Well, where do I start? (•ิ‿•ิ)

Let's start right at the beginning... Thank you for asking me to be your guests. This is not normally something my husband allows, as you know. But, yah, here I am.

Looking at the video, I have three wishes.

  1. I wish the internet played along better
  2. I wish I had combed my hair before we got to chat
  3. I wish it was on another day, as the strain of three days of hardly sleeping due to my husband being so sick is clearly visible.

Haha! I must be female after all.

Thank you for your beautiful words in this post. It is words like this that give me the inspiration to do so much more.

And yes, I understand your English... clearly. (•ิ‿•ิ)

I wish you all the best for the contest!

God's blessings to you and your family.🙏

It was an honor to have that section with you. No no, your hair, your makeup and everything is just beautiful, do not worry about the Internet. In the end, we achieved our aim.

One thing I appreciate so much is that despite your challenges, despite your busy schedule, despite all what you were battling with, you still made out time for this interview. You are a very strong woman my friend. I appreciate you and I will keep learning from you.

Thank you so much for being there. Cheers!

Whoa, really? Patjwell? One of the famous users on steemit. I am one of her fans on this platform. You are really lucky to have an interview with her. And I think, this post is really great my friend.

Best of luck to you 👍

It was really awesome and an honor having an interview with her. I am glad to know that you are one of her fans. Thank you for your comment

Lovely seeing both of you. 😍

You might be next, prepare for me. It will be awesome

Waooo finally, I now see the admin of steem ladies.

She is so beautiful, omo I tap to her strength, even at this age she is still doing all she has been doing.

The four point are well taken, I will ask my newbies to apply this method and let's see if they will appreciate it.

At the side of vote, I have been staring at my phone and I say to myself @mesola don't worry, one day you will reach that stage where support will be plumbing in.

You are really doing well ma

Even the blind, the deaf and the dumb can testify to her activities here. We all need to emulate her

Consistency dear friend, that is the key. Let's keep doing our best

More love 😘
