My country is unique because of Himalayas
It's always exciting to publish a post in the Comunidad Latina community. Link of the challenge Before I start, I would like to invite three fellow Steemians @sahmie @sariana23 @aprendeconkevin to participate.
Himalayas is the highest mountain range of the world. 9 out 10 highest picks including Mount Everest are situated in Himalayas. Major rivers of Asia originates from here. It regulates our planet climate also.
I had been to Himalayas several times. I am very much fond of Himalayas. My first visit to Himalayas shared earlier. Link My Dream Place
In 1988 we few friends planned to visit Pindari Glacier the source of Pindari Ganga river. We started from Kolkata, next day we reached Lakhnow by train. We had a train for Haldwani in the evening. We reached next day morning. We cought a bus for Song village via Bageswar.
Day 1 We started trek. We reached Loharkhet (4 Km) in the afternoon. We had lunch on the way. We stayed at Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam lodge. One staff of the lodge cooked our dinner.
Day 2 We started trek at 8AM for Dhakuri Pass. It was a very easy trek and trails are also well defined. Trishul, Devtoli, Maiktoli and Nandakhat picks are seen on the way. Forest of ooak and rhododendron will not let you know when you trek 8 Km stretch. There's small pantry to serve you food at reasonable price.
Day 3 We started trek nex day after breakfast with alu parota and mixed pickle. It's a easy walk of 9 Km. Khati is last village on this route at an altitude of 10000 ft. We took one guild who was much younger than us. He made list of ration and kerosene we have to buy. The lodge was about 100 meter above the village. We had local chicken curry and roti in dinner.
Day 4 Khati to Phurkiya (10 Km) Night stay at Stone hut. It was raining, so path was difficult, but we enjoyed the Pindari valley.
Day 5 We started early in the morning after breakfast towards Pindari Glacier. People came to know Pindari Glacier after the conquest of trails pass in 1830. The view of Mt Baljuri and Mt Panwali Dwar really amazing on the way to zero point (3800 m approx). Zero point on the lap of surrounding mountains from where the spout of the glacier was visible. Baljuri, Pawalidwar, Nandakhat, Changuch and Nandakot are the main peaks near Pindari Glacier.
We trek about 19 Km on the day. After spending some unforgettable time. We returned to Dwali for night stay. We had a lunch break at Phurkiya.
Day 6 We proceed to Khati (11 km) and took lunch. We returned to Dhakuri pass (8 km) on same day. We had our dinner there.
Last Day We returned to Lohakhet from Dhakuri and proceeded towards home.

Hello @impersonal, it is quite a spectacle to have the opportunity to make the trip and see the Pindari Glacier, among the other peaks.
An adventure of this nature in good company is worth it, somewhat exhausting, but worth the experience, sharing and beautiful memories.
Best of all, you have the photographs to support your words.
Blessings and success.
