CHAIN OF GOODNESS EVENT | Helping our neighborhood during pandemic

in SteemWomen Club3 years ago

Good day fellow steemians and everyone at SteemWomen Club. It is so nice to be around in this community to explore, learn, and share different ways that we as a woman could be of a help in our community.

Today while scanning steemit events, I have seen the new update from this lovely community about sharing good events that we have done and wanted to do to help individuals, people or community in hard time especially during this time of pandemic. And we The Shenks, are very happy to know about this. this will surely encourage people to do help as well because we would know the value of our heartily sharing of blessings to those in need. it might be in a little way, small amount of money and time but to the receiver it is already a huge help that they ever have.

Living in a poor community in the Philippines, squatters area as it is called, I have learned the value of every hardship that a family or individual has been through. With my family, we experienced a lot of trials but then we survived because in hope and prayers and that we also received help from certain people like neighbors and relatives who has never been blind to our needs.

Today, we will be sharing to you the little help we did towards our neighbors who has been struggling with daily needs most especially during the covid-19 pandemic where the whole city was under locked down. Meaning, people cant' go to work, loss their jobs, business, and a time when financial struggles are really so high.

These certain people received our food packs are the families who live in a very tiny house. There houses are not well built a you can see in the photos. Most of them are not from the town where I grew up. They just came into the place because one or two of their family members got a job close by. Some of them are senior citizens, mostly adults, and a lot of kids that we can see day by day.

The contents of the food packs are usually canned goods like sardines, tuna, beefloaf, and corned beef. All with 2 cans in
each pack. The food pack also had 3 instant noodles, laundry soap, toothpaste, pack of coffee, milk and milo, also 2 packs of biscuits for kids. We did not include rice because our government gave us 5 kilos of rice every week per family. Which is a big help too. The content will suffice their needs for one week or two. It depends how many of them in the household but the important thing is they have something to use during that day.

It feels so good upon seeing their smile receiving the food packs and hearing them saying "thank you" a lot of times.

Thanks to our siblings for packing and sending the food packs house to house and to their dedication to help our neighbors too. We aren't rich by finances and other resources but we make sure that we can be a help in our own little way as we are so much blessed.

We are grateful to come across in this community and to the admin and MOD of SteemWomen Club and to the event supporters @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02. Thank you all so much!

WITH LOVE...

hi @steemitcebu WoOV, that's the good I have been waiting for! I can say you made me cry. I am very emotional in these situations. Did you spend your own money on these benefits? How much did it cost you? Seeing the happiness of those people made me happy as well as you. I will definitely choose it for today's quality post. I hope you get high ratings. May the beauty of hearts always be eternal. Thank you so much. CHAIN OF GOODNESS EVENT ..

Thank you very much for your appreciation @steemwomensclub. We actually use our own money because we still have work during that time. The food pack was cost 350.00 each roughly 7 USD. And there were 25-30 families received. Truly helping those people like ours is a heavenly feeling... I hope this will encourage a lot of people to seek those people who are in need. 💖
