Benefits
Leaf varieties are the main ingredients used for this drink. Adding more leaf varieties increases the quality of the drink. Here I used 3 leaf varieties that were in my garden. They are Curry leaves, Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari), Ballon vine. In addition to that, we add Red Rice for this drink. Let's see what are the benefits of these main ingredients.
🍀 Curry Leaves
The main benefit is it helps to lose weight. Also, it helps for eliminates bacteria, eyesights, diabetes, reduce stress, improve memory, hair growth. They contain Vitamin A, B, C, B2, Iron, and Calcium.
🍀 Shatavari
It helps boost our immune system, treat kidney stones, maintain blood sugar, diabetes.
🍀 Ballon Vine
It may help for hair growth, joint pain, increases fertility, mosquito repellent properties, etc.
🍀 Red Rice- It consists Protein, Fiber, Potassium, Iron, Zinc, Carbohydrate, Fat. It may help to lower high cholesterol, prevent heart disease, lower blood glucose, etc.
Those are some of the benefits of the main ingredients. Also, we can add more leaf varieties like alternanthera sessilis, pennywort, espanol. Let's see how to prepare this drink.
Ingredients
✔ Shatavari
✔ Curry leaves
✔ Ballon vine
✔ Red rice- 1/2 cup
✔ Grated coconut- 2cups
✔ Salt- 3/4 tsp
✔ Water as required
✔ Piece of jaggery
Steps to make
➊ First, wash the leaves and cut them into small pieces.
➋ Blend all leaves and grated coconut together by adding water.
➌ Then squeeze the 1st extract from that blended mix into a bowl and squeeze the 2nd extract into another bowl separately.
➍ Put red rice and water into a pot and cook it in low flame. Keep it until boiled.
➎ Add 2nd extract juice into the pot when rice gets boiled and mix all together.
➏ Add 1st extract into the pot when the drink gets boiled and add salt too.
➐ Finally, mix all together and keep it for about 2 minutes and switch of the flame.
Now, the leaf porridge is ready to drink. You can drink it by adding sugar to your taste or by biting a piece of jaggery. We usually drink this with a piece of jaggery. Don't let the drink cool. Drink it warmly. Also, this drink takes a beautiful green color. I think this is the most healthy drink you can ever have. Drinking this Leaf Porridge in the morning will refresh your whole day.
