Hello steemers! Hope you all are doing well. This is my first ever post in steem women club and I'm very excited about it.
So in today's post I will show you how I used my daughter's old and broken toys and created a new one out of them.

My daughter is 2.5 years old. She is obsessed with numbers and letters. I got her these magnetic toys that she really enjoys playing with but, due to rough handling, some of the magnets had come off the letters and numbers and they were no longer sticking to any metallic surface.
Same happened with this wooden abacus, all the beads had come off and she no longer played with it.

So for this contest, I decided to make a paper caterpillar for my daughter using these broken toys in some way.

I took 5 colored printer papers and cut them into 8 x 2 inches strips each. I then glued them together into a chain like so:

I also cut out the antennas and painted them and the beads in black color.

Lastly, I completed the chain and put all the pieces together. Once the caterpillar was made, I finally pasted the digits on it's body. Here's what it looked like in the end.

When the toy was ready, I went and showed it to my daughter. She was really surprised to see it and was hesitating to touch it at first. I proceeded to show her where I've pasted her number toys and we then read them together. She then came forward still looking at it with astonishment and touched it.

I then decided to leave her with her new toy for a while and let her explore it.

When I came back a while later, I saw her playing with her new toy and really enjoying it. She then put it around her neck and roamed around the house like that. :D

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this activity. :)
