Hello everyone especially to @steemwomensclub and to Miss @nadiaturrina , this is fruityapple00 from Cebu Philippines and I would like to share to you about one of the most popular dish in Philippines.

I have many dishes that I really love to eat here in Philippines like : adobo pork , humba , fish and pork grilled , kinilaw na isda and baboy ( eaten raw fish and pork) , pork sisig and even dinugoan or pork blood dish .

Pork sisig is a Filipino dish and it is a quite popular as “ PULUTAN” or the best food pairings with beer or any alcoholic beverage, normally served on a sizzling plate and in other areas topped with raw egg and I loved it. Sisig can also be enjoyed as a main dish or viand with a cup of rice on the side ( Like the photo I shared below) . Pork Sisig would easily find it in the most bars , restaurants, or even carenderias but it’s a bit expensive. It will cost PHP 155 . 00 - PHP 165.00 Or $ 3.10 -$3.30 per served and it is not a lot of sisig you can get. When you tried to cook on your own you can save more and can share it to 8-10 people that is cost not more than PHP 300.00 or $6 only. Sisig is a seriously addictive.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 pcs of green chile pepper
  • 2 pcs of onion minced
  • 2 gloves of garlic
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 kl of pork mask /ears
  • 6 glass of water
  • 4 pcs of calamansi ( optional)
  • 4 tbsp of Soy sauce
  • 1/2 of salt
  • Seasoning powder
  • Pepper

THIS IS HOW I COOK MY OWN VERSION OF PORK SISIG:

  • You have to rinse well the pig mask/ears with clean water
  • By the way we used butane to cook the dish , so prepare all these stuff like pan , pot , spatula , spoon and knife
  • Prepare the pot and the pork with the 6 glass of water then boil. Simmer it for 20-30 minutes until the skin on the pork is tender enough to be easily pierced with a knife then drain it.
  • Other people they will grill it after boiling the pork but for my pork sisig I just directly chopped it into small pieces but before you will cut it , you will have to wait 15 minutes or until it is all good and enough to hand to cut them .
  • While waiting you have to prepare other ingredients, roughly chop the onons , garlic and chile pepper

  • Roughly chop the pork mask/ears in to small pieces

  • start cooking the sisig by sautening the garlic , onions ang green chile pepper until it soft

  • After 1 minute add the pork , stir and cook it thoroughly for about 12-15 minutes

  • While stirring add the 4 tbsp of soy sauce , 1/2 tbsp of salt , pea of pepper , and pea of seasoning powder ( add more when it is needed) . Make sure to blend all the ingredients together for balancing the flavor of the dish.
  • If the taste is good and enough for you then you can serve it , but if you want extra spicy then you can add more spices ( it depends on your taste)

  • Stir and mix it well until will look brownish after 15-20 minutes
  • Transfer it to a serving plate and serve hot . Enjoy and share ❤️😘

You can also served the dish using a metal plate or on a regular plate and you can also add egg on the topped of the sisig and 1 pc of calamansi in it before eating but this is optional.
