Oud Batavia
Greeting Steemians World of Xpilar.
In Jakarta, Indonesia, there is an area has many historical buildings. The area is often called the Old City area of Jakarta. For the historical community, the area is called Oud Batavia. Taken from the Dutch language, formerly Jakarta was still called Batavia. In addition, many of these buildings were built during the Dutch colonial era, and even some buildings still use Dutch names.
The building stood strong and was made in the 17th and 18th centuries. Most buildings are used as museums, places of worship, and offices. Some are managed by the local government and rented out for wedding events.

Good morning from London @yoedie Congratulations, your interesting post has been upvoted by @petface, who is on the hunt for unique, quality content here in the WORLD OF XPILAR. I love colonial architecture so thank you for sharing such exotic pictures of Jakarta which foreigners mostly relate with skyscrapers. The fifth image is my favourite.
Good morning London, thank you for the support @petface. The fifth building is the National Museum of the Republic of Indonesia, built-in 1862 and collects ancient objects from all over the archipelago. Such as ancient statues, inscriptions, other ancient objects, and craft items.
But this building in Indonesia is known as the Elephant Museum. Because there is an elephant statue in front of the museum.
The elephant statue is made of bronze as a gift by King Chulalongkorn of Thailand in 1871. Maybe later I will write and take photos of old buildings in Jakarta in this WOX community. Thank you.
Hai @yoedie 👍
