Once I have given some thought to the topic of the contest, the investment, I decided to participate with a post-processing based on working with layers in Photoshop.
As you know my speciality is architectural photography, so I took an image of an outdoor porch in which there was a part of the construction and another part of the garden of the house. I chose that photo because I felt it had enough elements to create contrast.
First I applied an inversion adjustment layer and the result simply looked like a negative, a bit dull and boring, but well, I figured that out before I did it.

Una vez he dado unas vueltas al tema del del concurso, la inversión, me decido a participar con un post-proceso a base de trabajar con las capas en Photoshop.
Como bien sabras mi especialidad es la fotografía de arquitectura, así tomé una imagen de un porche en el exterior en el que había una parte de la construcción y otra del jardín de la casa. Elegí esa foto por que consideré que tenía los elementos suficientes para crear contraste.
En primer lugar apliqué una capa de ajuste de inversión y el resultado tenía simplemente un aspecto de negativo, un poco soso y aburrido, pero bueno, eso ya me lo imaginé antes de hacerlo.
The next step was to apply a curve adjustment layer with a 'kinematic' effect. In the following image you can see the difference between the original and the first adjustment layer.

El siguiente paso fue aplicar una capa de ajuste de curvas con un efecto 'cinemático'. En la siguiente imagen se puede observar la diferencia entre la original y la primera capa de ajuste.
I then introduced a curve adjustment layer with the 'cross process' option. In analogue this process was when developing slides with the colour negative developers or vice versa. You can see that it still maintains a very noticeable negative effect.

A continuación introduje una capa de ajuste de curvas con la opción de 'proceso cruzado'. En analógico este proceso era cuando se revelaba diapositiva con los reveladores de negativo de color o viceversa. Se puede observar que todavía mantiene un efecto muy notorio de negativo.
The last adjustment layer was hue and saturation. In the image you can see the levels entered.

La última capa de ajuste fue de tono y saturación. En la imagen se pueden ver los niveles introducidos.
And finally I duplicated the background layer, i.e. the original photo. I placed it on top of all the other layers and changed the blending mode to 'linear light'.

Y por último dupliqué la capa del fondo, o sea, la foto original. La coloqué sobre todas las demás capas y le cambié el modo de fusión poniéndolo en 'luz lineal'.
The result may seem a bit psychedelic, it could be titled 'Japanese garden ready to receive aliens', but I think the inversion is evident, albeit modified.

Oh, how difficult! And I did mine in one go and something came out of it, too. But your result is very interesting. Without knowing about the processing, we can assume that it would have been so if not for these transparent shadows. A lot of light turned out.
Interesting result! Psychedelic, and yet as if it were absolutely real!
