In the archipelago of Las Pitiusas, Ibiza and Formentera, there is a traditional dance with ancestral roots, which is called "Ball Pagès" in the local language, a peasant dance in its literal translation.

This dance is performed by "collas", groups of grouped dancers, and is guided by the typical instruments of the Balearic countryside, flute, drum and castanets. In the photograph you can see one of these groups made up of people of all ages, dressed in the typical costumes and jewellery that gave status to the people, especially the women. Before the performance I tried to organise a group photograph, and I think the first attempt was really nice, with most of the protagonists not involved in the act of photography. I think that's the attraction of the shot.

For the development, I wanted to give the image an "ochocentista" air (from the XVIII century), classic of the photos taken at the beginning of the 20th century.

En el archipiélago de Las Pitiusas "Ibiza y Formentera", existe un baile tradicional con raíces ancestrales, que se denomina "Ball Pagès" en el lenguaje local, baile campesino en su traducción literal.

Este baile es llevado a cabo por "collas", grupos de bailadores agrupados, y se acompaña con los instrumentos típicos del campo balear, flauta, tambor y castañuelas. En la fotografía se puede ver uno de estos grupos formados por gente de todas las edades, ataviados con los trajes típicos y las joyas que daban estatus a las personas, especialmente a las mujeres. Antes de la actuación traté de organizar una fotografia de grupo, y creo que el primer intento fue realmente simpático, con la mayoría de protagonistas ajenos al acto de la fotografía. creo que ese es el atractivo de la toma.

Para el revelado, he querido dar a la imagen un aire "ochocentista", clásico de las fotos realizadas a principios del siglo XX.
