In this entry there will be more than one image.

For family and holiday reasons, for more than twenty years I have spent part of the winter in a pre-Pyrenean region in the province of Huesca, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. During my stays I began to photograph the landscape surrounding the village where I was staying and soon found a motif that I found attractive. In this area poplar forests are planted for the timber industry, these forests in the winter season are leafless and look almost poetic. They are perfectly aligned in clumps of disparate growth, which gives the landscape a rare sense of dispersion.

Thus, little by little, winter after winter, a small project was born which, as I said, has lasted more than twenty years. I started shooting with black and white film, and then alternated the work with digital shots.

The image that opens the entry is from that first analogue stage. It was taken with a Hasselblad camera in panoramic format and scanned in two stages, one for each side of the photograph, and then stitched together with a panorama stitching software.

To close the entry, I leave again an analogue image, which like the first one is made with the panoramic camera and scanned in two batches. Here I have made a sepia toning to accentuate the effect of the film.
