The difference between ego and self
Ever since you were a child people have been telling you what to do, what to see, and who you are.
Your mother tells you, you are a son or daughter.
Your body tells you that you are human.
Your boss tells you that you are a good or bad employee
The television tells you how to treat each other
Books tell you what to believe and how to act
Every year you begin to see the world 🌍 slightly differently…
The changes you experience may be subtle at first.
But all of these contributed to the development of ego.
It takes several years for the ego to develop. Adults often have far bigger egos than children.
The more powerful you become, the bigger your ego. Ever wondered why celebrities are jerks? Or why politicians are liers?
Because other people are constantly comparing you to others. They are constantly telling you what’s normal. They are constantly telling you how they want you to behave.
Eventually you begin to rationalize these experiences. And the ego begins to grow and develop as a real part of your life. Your brain tells you no that’s not me. That’s not how I’m supposed to act or think.
Most of the people on the planet believe that their ego is their self. When they think about what they should do. They think what should someone in my position do?
People who live like this are living in the past and not the present.
I struggle with ego. Do you?
Why? Well your ego is an abstract imaginary immature delusion. But everyone validates it. It’s constantly feeding itself information about your self image. Your status in life. Your bank account. Your car. Your job…
you gain a picture of yourself in relation to material reality and lose your self in the process.
The ego is the cause of sorrow, envy, jealousy, greed, and much more.
Large groups of people under the influence of a collective ego is the cause of great wars.
Do not believe the voice in your head. Don’t be fooled into believing what you think about yourself is the real you. What you think about yourself is a fantasy. Ignorance promotes ego.
Do you want to wake up?
I can only show you to doors. You must decide weather to open a new one.
The self
The self is like your nature.
It’s your eternal essence.
Not limited to material wealth, it transcends the physical body.
It is eternal meaning it has no end and no begging.
Due to this it feels no hate or anger or greed or envy.
It’s connected with the entire cosmos through your nervous system. Knowing no limitations such as god’s angels 😇 or Christ himself.
The self is always present and when you are able to quiet the mind and vanquish the ego through practical techniques such as meditation 🧘 you become far more powerful and intelligent.
Allowing you to flow through life effortlessly, without obstacles, and without thought. Just a keen intuition.

We are living in the age of the ego, where many are obsessed with their appearance. The proliferation of social networks, the constant instigation through the media to individuality, all this induce people to make life revolve around them, assuming that they are more important than others, which in turn makes this behavior become addictive.
So true. It’s a modern day issue. Very challenging for many to get past this. It seems most of the time they have to get hurt before anything changes.
Religion sometimes helps with this.

I add: it is necessary to eradicate them and replace them with thoughts that convey harmony. God his creation and his laws are the perfect evidence of that ideal harmony.

You are right.
The process of having thoughts that are in complete harmony is very difficult to do. It’s also something that is supposed to happen naturally.
You can’t force a person to love their spouse. It can only happen naturally.
If I say to myself I love my spouse 590 I might trick my mind to accept it is a truth. Buts it’s not the same as actual loving your spouse.
There are techniques that can be used to promote harmony naturally.
