War in Ukraine: I feel ashamed!
Hello dear Steemians,
Today is a bit different type of post that was influenced by the events of last days but the trigger to do it was first the post of @olesia who is an Ukrainian Country curator and the post was about the new attack yesterday:

You all may remember that beginning of the year on 24 February 2022 Russia launched a full-scale attack from multiple directions on Ukraine. Many of us did not believe that this is something that will escalate and turn into real war using heavy weapons and killing of civil population of Ukraine. From early age and in school we all knew that these two nations have so much in common in the past and there are many people who have friends and even family members one is Russian and another is Ukrainian.
This is not a joke, many have left the country and I am glad that Europe was happy to accommodate many refugees and also provide help. The people in Europe remember in two previous generations the impact of World War 1 and 2, many families have victims like grandparents who were scarred by war, the people who then restore after war and their wish was to keep peace.
If initially there were daily news about what is happening on front and what help is provided, what people can do. Day by day the volume of news became less and less.People in Europe feel now impact of war on their wallet, because of raising prices for heating and electricity. I remember in Interviews early this year, when journalists asked simple people if they happy to pay high prices for Gas and electricity, every said: Yes! we support this way Ukraine. But now we often hear people mourning about the prices and I am shamed to admit I hear people who even say that Ukraine should give up so that war is finished.
How horrible this way of thinking, but maybe because the persons are not involved and live in their bubble with all the comfort, delivery service and social support of State.
When I hear that I ask them what they will do if Russian will come to them and take their country and kill the people with aim of wipe out the whole nation. If that person will happily agree with that in order for war to be finished. That makes those people to think.
Ukrainian community on Steemit is small and I do not think many of them have mood to do posts and take part in contest when the war is there and they have to think how to survive.
I am still impressed that community is still trying to keep up with the Steemit rules of being active and growing Steem Power and organizing contests. You have my respect Ukrainian users!

This is what @olesia wrote in her post, of course, she is writing in Ukrainian and I translate for you, because not many people will take time for translating:

I did not sleep almost the whole night, because I was somehow worried in my soul, but in the morning I managed to fall asleep. I woke up to the sound of something buzzing outside the window. The noise was so loud that I got scared, jumped out of bed and ran into the corridor.
How I ended up in that corridor is not clear. This is already imagining the picture and it's a little funny to me. You know when a cat is madly scared, runs away, and its paws slide on the linoleum. That's how I ran away, sleepy, somewhere, somehow, to hide. But when something flies, then no rule of two walls will help, as you look for bodies under the rubble.
When someone is writing such words full of fear how someone else can leave such comment:

Reading those comments makes me sick, I just have no words and do not want even to contact that user, no matter what we say and try to convince that will not change anything that is why the best to ignore him.
But I wanted to draw the attention of @steemcurator01 to such behavior of the user and to draw the attention of others to find what you, dear Steemians think as this is our little Steemit Family, isn't it?

@stef1 We've been ignoring commentators like nklm for a long time now. They are hysterical at their helplessness. Because ignorance is a good weapon. And for people like him, this is another reason to show their true colors. This is the whole of Russia.... How can you talk to them... Regarding @steemcurator01. I think that these guys in the team are not blind, they see everything themselves. They see who writes about what, who and what he is. Who is a man, and who is the likeness of a man. After all, being human is a lot of work. You are compassionate, you are not indifferent to someone else's grief. And I hope that most of them are here. Therefore, do not pay attention to the sad comments of the Russians, this is their usual manner of communication. Everything is great. Thanks for support.
Hi Olesia, sorry for late reply, just arrived from night shift. I am glad to hear that you taking such approach for such users and that is the best thing to do. It was felt not right to keep silence seeing such attitude and just wanted that the other people know what is happening and also even if they say nothing but that will make them to think. In fact, Steemit helps a lot of us to stay communicative, to joke about our murderers, to keep the mood on.
We had panic during a few months but now we really got used to life during the war. When russians pisses us off, we donate more and more to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it helps to think we are fighting, too.
This person who's writing fascist speeches at least shows his face all the time — and we see who he is. But there are a lot of russians who think the same but keep their mouth shut — just at the beginning of the full-scale war they wished Ukrainians death (in telegram-chats, in comments but never in posts, for make it harder to prove anything about their opinions). They are here, too, in WORLD OF XPILAR community. But we understand we can't do anything. That's why we try to ignore them. Ok, not always, sometimes we downvote them))) But it's not Facebook where we can press "report about hate speech"... No such button here. But it's not a problem, really. It's clear as a daylight — most of russian people are just real nazi, and sooner or later the whole world will see that.

Hi Julia and the Ukraine community, thank you for your comment and explanation. I am glad that this is a place and activity that you are taking part with pleasure. I can imagine that the situation made the people who stayed stronger and united many. There are always people who speak up loudly and it is easy to know what to expect from them. The human being is very cruel to own species, I never understand why we do it to ourselves, the life is too short to waste it with intrigue and fight.
I only wish that there will be more people who can judge themselves and think for themselves and not let to dictate and blindly accept it. I wish you a lot of moral strength and to stay safe!

Putin is targeting the civilians right from the start, he is razing Ukraine from the ground and threatening ALL of US with his nuclear rhetoric. We are already having one of our legs now in the grave and all of our hopes, dreams, and lives are at risk of ending just like that.
I am not so surprised with even the tragic story of Olesia, it is still mocked by some heartless people with the use of a derogatory word "Khokols" even, because we live in a world where lies are regarded as truths just to push an agenda for somebody's own interests and glory. It is being done by Putin to his people using his controlled mass media, so the product it produces is a mind that had been conditioned to think that enemies are friends and what is supposed to be real friends are treated to be the enemies.
I myself is worried about this world that we are living into, we are getting affected by a government in a foreign country that has known in history that has no regard for human lives,
My heart for Ukraine.

Unfortunately, we can't predict the future and in the situation like now it looks like it is not going to settle and both side will have human losses and somebodies family will lose their dear people, that will plant more seeds of hate in the hearts of the people. The modern media makes is possible to manipulate people easier than in the past and that is worst thing, nowadays used for brain wash, especially for those who get information only from one source.Appreciate your contribution.
Yes, they are not laughing at me, but at the people of Ukraine as a whole. They scoff at the fact that they look at it as an action or thriller. But if they were eyewitnesses of these events, they would not have had the courage to smile. It is good for a Russian to sit on the couch and talk about the war, as long as it does not concern him personally and his family.
They have that way of thinking because most Russians are fed by the propaganda for so many years already.
I myself was watching RT and I was left to believe that Crimea's people wants to join Russia because their referendum says so. Later I realized that it was actually illegal and that I fell victim too about the Russian propaganda machine. I am glad that RT is now banned.

Really sad what happens but it's who we are. Our species is still a long way from being human.
I envy the fantasy world that was created by Gene Roddenberry in Star Trek, that is the future that I wish all of us, but on other hand I have a fear that it will never happen,it seems that there is a destruction coded in our genes.

War is always destruction and pain of loss, nobody knows what it will led to, but hope that there will be more people who will understand and make everything possible to stop it.
