I live in Aceh, one of the westernmost provinces of the country of Indonesia, Besides natural products such as gas, oil, gold, jade and other gems, in Aceh there is an island that is often visited by tourists from Europe and the USA.
The island is none other than Sabang, a very famous island in Indonesia, and this island has unlimited natural beauty.
Sabang Island was first discovered by Ptolomacus, an earth expert from Greece, and this island no one has been able to explain the origin of the island's existence.
There are many rumors circulating in the community where the island is basically one with the mainland of Aceh, because of an earthquake in the past it finally separated and became an island.
In the 12th century, Sinbad made a voyage from Sohar, Oman, far across the ocean via the Maldives, Kalkit Island (India), Sri Lanka, Andaman, Nias, Penang, and Canton (China). Sinbad anchored on an island and also named it Golden Island, the island which people know today as Pulau Weh (Sabang).
And in the early 15th century. The explorer from China, Cheng Ho, had stopped there in 1413-1415. Notes Ma Huan, one of Cheng Ho's translators, explained that to the northwest of Aceh there is a land with towering mountains, which he named Mount Mao. There are about 30 families there. Many historians assert that what Mount Mao means is Pulau Weh (Sabang).
But we don't need to find out the origin of the truth, the most important thing for us today is to protect and preserve the beautiful island.
