Hello Visitors! What a pleasant surprise. Welcome to my hometown. We are in Leyte, a province here in the Philippines. :)

I am Shelou, your tour guide for today.
There are so many beautiful places to visit here in the Philippines but since you only have one-day stopover and you surprisingly visited me in my hometown, let's enjoy the day with our beautiful spots here!

But before we start, let me handle this map to you.

This will serve as your guide as well. It shows there the places we are going to visit, the transportation, and the travel time. I'm the one who made this map and I always prepare this incase someone might visit here and want to enjoy the places here like you guys. 😊

That green flag is our starting point, here at my home. First of, as a Filipino when we have a visitors, we serve them food. Please have some of our typical breakfast in the Philippines, a pandesal/bread paired with coffee or hot choco. :)

Once again welcome to Leyte, Philippines. Right now let me tell a brief history or intoduction about Leyte Province. Leyte is a province in the Philippines located in Eastern Visayas Region. Tandaya was its original name and it was first visited by Spanish explorers led by Ferdinand Magellan who discovered a new route around the world. During world war II, US forces landed on Leyte where the battle of leyte gulf happened.

Our major sectors are agriculture, industry, and tourism. We have many beautiful places which makes it an ideal travel destination for local and foreign tourists.

We have now arrived to our first destination, in Tabango Leyte, it only took us 5 mins travel time from my home.

The municipality of Tabango is located along the northwestern part of the Province of Leyte. There are fascinating natural and man-made attractions here.

This statue is the landmark of Tabango. Here's the funny story behind this statue 😂:

Most of the people here lived near the seashore. One day there was a man catching a crab and accidentally bitten by it. A newly arrived spanish soldier was looking for someone to ask what this place is called, then the soldier saw this man and so he asked him. The man was in pain, upon seeing the soldier he yelled "Tabang mo!" meaning "help me!". The spanish soldier thought it was the name of this town, he heard it as "Tabango" and he repeated this word to his superiors. This was the time that the "Tabango" was formed and it was then retained. 😂

And behind it is the Tabango Park. The surroundings are very clean and there are plenty of trees good for relaxing and photography experiences. This is perfect for family bonding or having a picnic.

A few steps further to north you will find this Tabango churh, a sacred and a holy place. The sculpture and architecture are unique and astonishing.

😂
Now let's go to the second destination. It will only take us 10 mins to get there.
Welcome to Buho Beach! It is one of the most visited places here because of its fine white sand and clean sea. There also native cottages. This will give you a memorable and fun swimming experience.

The word "buho" means "hole" . It was called Buho beach because you can find here a hole or a cave with thousands of fuit-eating bats.

This area is steep with a landscape of ornamental plants. According to the Mayor here, part of their vision for this eco-park is the construction of a zipline and sky bike, in addition to the currently operational wall climbing, an activity that aids the body’s strength and endurance.

A national competition for triathlon specifically the international downhill, endurance race, and mountain bike race was held here.

It has a cone-like peak that shows a bird's eye view of the vast agricultural land and the sunset by the sea in the horizon of Tabango.

In this area you will also find a cove resort called "Ocean Pearl Cove Resort", a place where you can relax and enjoy.

me :D

It is 34.3km away from ocean pearl, 47-50 mins. travel time. "Lantaw" means "View". This is a small hill and you can hike up to the top or you can just use your cars. But I recommend you to hike, because it's fun and wonderful experience. Don't worry if you are cautious there's a rope you can hold onto, so you can climb safely and climb like a monkey. 😂

please excuse my face ✌

Once you reach to highest area of the hill, you will witness the beauty of the nature. This place if perfect for relaxing and clearing your minds. You can order food and drinks and just enjoy the view, especially during the sunrise and sunset.

I saved the best for last. This is the best place to end this tour. We have to take a vessel to get there for an hour or so.

We are now in our final destination (not like the horror movie 😂✌).
Welcome to Kalanggaman Island! This is a dream beach destination for both local and foreign visitors here in the Philippines and this is located in Leyte. :)
It is known for its stretches of white powdery sand beaches and its crystal clear blue waters.
This island has one of the most pristine sandbars in the world.

In 2013, MV Europa Cruise Line stopped over on the island and brought almost 400 passengers who stayed on the island for a couple of hours and then island started to gain international exposure.
