Wood-Burned Art: Raven (Club100)
Hello fellow steemians! It's been a pretty long day here but I wasn't going to let that deter me from getting a post in! I am going to dip into the archives a bit for this one though. I do still have dinner to make (yummy goat cheese stuffed chicken and brussels sprouts).
I made this one with my mother in mind because she likes ravens. I didn't make it for her or for Mother's Day but it sold as a Mother's Day gift. Quick sidebar, do you folks in other countries (I am in the USA) have Mother's Day or a similar celebration? Either way, this was an earlier piece that I made while teaching myself pyrography - Latin for writing with fire.
I actually just saw as I was grabbing the link on Imgur for this picture that it was 5 years ago. I'm not even sure if I uploaded it at the same time I was creating it, but I assume I did, so, I was a couple years in on self-teaching myself this craft at that point. I think I've come a long way since then.
The art itself, as mentioned, was a wood-burned piece with some color and an epoxy coat to shine it up. It's find of crazy looking back on it because the work I do now "pops" so much more than this piece once the epoxy is down. @jae5086 is a flooring contractor and is accustomed to using epoxy on some of his flooring projects (you may see some of them popping up in the future if I can get him to remember to take pictures). He calls it the "burn effect" when the epoxy is applied and the colors become much deeper yet bold.
Now, it's time to cook that dinner. The belly is rumbling. Tomorrow is a rainy day and I think we're going to get a lot done since @jae5086 has off work paid. I hope you folks have a great time and keep on stopping by to check out my latest...and long ago...creations. Bye for now!

Bon appetit, my friend, it's good that you don't have this crow for dinner 🤣 😂😅
Excellent drawing and this paint with burning is very moderate
Well, better than eating crow I suppose.
:-))
