Opening night for How To Price A Painting—Recent Work By Ron Throop, November 20, 2021.

I am still a little bit adrenaline hung over. What a wonderful night! These are the only pictures that survive, taken by Rose, who thought more to mingle with friends and new friends than work the floor like a photo-waitress. We sold 10 paintings, and raised over $1000 for the Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts. I took home enough dough to pay for the band and some of the food and beverage. For me it’s not about the money. I live in a privileged state, with a sugar-mama to support me. She’s my patron, and as long as I cook, clean, make her laugh and rub her feet, promises to let me remain fed, clothed and sheltered until my heart stops pumping blood. It truly feels good giving back to the community. I suggest it to anyone who likes to get high on life.
Thank you Steemit community for reading the posts. There are still two weeks of exhibition. Please get out to Rochester and see for yourselves how art translates to “gratitude”.

Hi @ronthroop, I feel happy looking at this amazing ambiance. The paintings and their positioning look amazing :) A very warm exhibition with musicians, art lovers, and your cookies. Glad for the sales and the money to go to school. Thank you very much for creating this pleasant and artistic environment, bringing it together with art lovers, and also for including us in this environment. Congratulations, your experiences are reflected in your exhibition very well :)
My dream is to hold an exhibition like you one day :)

Hi @serap ,
Thank you so much for the kind words. It feels very good to send paintings off to new homes, especially just moments after I met their new care providers:)
One can never really tell if his or her art appeals to others. Exhibitions are a sort of “coming out” ceremony, but they happen over and over again (as long as the painter can stand it), which is a pleasure/pain that must strike a balance, else upset homeostasis.
When you have your next opening, I will make sure to be there figuratively, like the art on the wall, to support you!
P.S. These pop-up shows keep giving. I have an appointment this week to show the work to the curator of American art at the Memorial Art Gallery. That’s a big step for a small town painter.
Let’s hope she has a sweet tooth:)

It is definitely great happiness to meet the new families of the paintings, especially after a nice conversation :)
The way you put your perspective on your comments that encourage me to think about it reminds me that you are a writer :)
It is very motivating to know your support for the exhibition, thank you very much :)
By the way, Congratulations on your important appointment at the Memorial Art Gallery, this is great news :)
If something goes wrong it's only because she's on a no-sugar diet :D

Oh I don’t put all my eggs in one basket. I’ll put out cheese and cashews too:)
Always merry and bright!

:)

Congratulations. It is a great exhibition, a very fine venue and your donation is a very generous and beneficial effort towards the community. Also, congrats for your sales! I hope more come before the end.
I really like the paintings, full of energy, brightness and color.
Suerte.

Thank you! One thing I am certain about is my energy:) I could have been a long distance runner, but then I’d have to be inside my head too much without the release. Painting was a good career move.
I have another “mini-opening” on December 3, same exhibition, though without a jazz trio. We might sell a few more.
