WOX. who are we and why do we use this Community...by Romanie.

Hello Steemians and World of Xpilar members!
I would like to support @stef1 proposal to share why we use this platform of social media and why in this group World of Xpilar Community.
WHO AM I AND SO ON....
well, I´ve been trying to figure out who I am most of my life so that is a difficult one but I can give some data on my life experience to give some references.
I live in Ibiza, Spain. This is where I was brought. I´m half english and half spanish.
I have dedicated most of my life to painting as you can see at this web. www.romanie.net and I also work as a Forest Fire Fighter in Summers and have spent many years also giving art classes to children. I love doing all of that.
I´m married to Jason who is a chess player, we have been together for 20 years but just got married in 2019 ( I was a bee and he was a flower on that day). . We love to travel, cycle and explore new places.
For the past two years we are stuck here in Ibiza looking after my mother who has become sick so all that is on hold.

WHY DO I CHOOSE WOX? WHY DO I LIKE THIS COMMUNITY?
I got into Steemit back in 2017 when an artist friend of mine Peter Gric www.gric.at told me about it. Back then when I first started on this platform it was different. We didn´t post into groups like now. I was lucky to be supported by Peter Gric, Leo Plaw, Otto Rapp and other personal friends who already had a network going here so it was easier to be visible and connect to other artists. I´ve never really understood the crypto currency in depth. I just thought it was a good way to have a platform that I was supported and I can support others with more than just a like.
I do believe Cryptos are the currency of the future and I think it´s good to be familiar with this world before it becomes mainstream.
so..... why WOX? well, after a break of a few months when it Steemit went though a division and many emigrated to Hive and others stayed here, I was confused and just stopped posting, not sure what to do. Then, I came back to check it out and found out it had all changed into groups and @stef1 kindly guided me explaining how this had changed over the time I had been offline and told me how to post. I guess I kind of fell into this group WOX that I liked because I found many people posted authentic experiences and art. I´m interested in cooking, travel and other things and I find people here are quite genuine.
I did try to post in Hive but I found very little personal response. It was more about bots voting madly and less about reql people reading the post and interacting.
I guess I´m still oldschool. I log in a few times a week and read other people´s posts en find interesting posts to share and comment. So yes, I like this diverse group of international people. I think there is great diversity and plurality.
I would like to try to translate my posts into Spanish that is my other language but I must admit I´m lazy to write things twice, so I always suppose (possibly wrong) that people can use google translate or DeepL. I do that when I wnat to know what a post might be about in a language I can´t understand.
I´m happy to have made many of the connections I have created over this time and I nominate this group as the group of the year!
I´m still fascinated by WOX´s constant support and attention on so many posts bringing them forward and sharing them. Thank you!
I guess that with this I can conclude this post sharing my perspective on this group.

Bye for now from Ibiza! We are in a terrible heat wave but extremely fortunate to not be fighting big fires. We never know when these can occur but so far, people seem to be responsible and we are being lucky. Let´s hope this continues till the end of the season and we don´t have to be in the situation of Sicily, Athens or Turkey.

Hi @romanie, I am pleased you decided this post. I knew that you might be busy this time remembering how it was last year with summer fire I was worried it is the case this time too.
I am glad for people living on Ibiza that till now they are lucky and that they tried not to be a reason for fire.
Coming back to your posts there are so many in it I really enjoyed to learn about your artistic way and I can immediately imagine that it was your and Jason way to do such wedding party. Love it and thank you for sharing such precious moment!
The fire fighters who are just posing and not at work this is really something that we all want to see nowadays. I bet we all normal people really appreciate such dedicate and their hard work.
I mentioned to you before your paintings they have such touch of Old master style and also the colors that you choose make them to look very distinct.
Beautiful post about you and of course it was nice to learn your experience of being with WOX.

I was going to wait till Monday when I´m off work but I did find the time in the evening to do this as I was inspired by reading all the other members who had also written their story and thoughts on WOX. I´m quite astonished by the response it´s had today. I just got back from work and saw all these votes ! How encouraging! Thank you for sharing the links to other interesting bloggers. The only one I didn´t know previously was @chriddi and from what I can see I think I relate to her interests also. Thank you. I´m a big fan of @ronthroop work, I really find his work inspiring. I have also been a follower of @arcoiris for a long time and I can see he is also very talented.

¿Qué tal @romanie me ha gustado mucho tu post en el que nos cuentas un poco tus intereses, tus gustos y un poco, tu itinerario por steemit. Tambien me alegro poder comunicarme contigo en español, mi lengua materna y no tener que recurrir al traductor que a veces me juega malas pasadas. Me gusta esa ideas de conformar una comunidad de personas con intereses comunes, especialmente de artes plásticas. He visto tu obra, me ha gustado mucho, y veo que tenemos muchos puntos en común pues yo llevo bastantes años que no me interesa el realismo, pues para eso ya está la fotografìa. Pretendo hacer visibles mundos que tengo a medio conformar en mi mente y que surgen porque una vez comienzo a pintar una pincelada llama a otra hasta que surge la obra definitiva. Cada obra es una aventura. También soy un amante, como tú, de la linea curva y de los mundos de fantasía. Por eso me ha resultado tan interesante el intercambio de ideas entre los creadores plásticos pero no comprendo bien los mecanismos de acceso a wox y la participación en el mismo. Bueno, me despido de tí deseándote un verano tranquilo, por la cuenta que nos tiene a todos, en esa maravillosa isla .
Hola! Gracias por ponerte en contacto. He ido viendo y votando tus obras ya hace tiempo y me gustan mucho y me fijé que eras de España también. A veces me siento mal por no ponerme a traducir los posts en dos idiomas pero se me hace cuesta arriba escribir lo mismo dos veces! Es muy liberador poder dejarse llevar por lo que sugieren las libres pinceladas iniciales y encontrar mundos mágicos e imposibles. Es sanador. Te deseo la posibilidad de dedicarle todo el tiempo posible. Yo ahora no tengo tanto tiempo como quisiera pero son fases en las que otras tareas me requieren y tengo que tener paciencia.

Encantado de haber contactado contigo. Yo lo más cerca de Ibiza que he estado ha sido cuando estuve en Menorca llevando a mis alumnos de EGB de viaje de fin de estudios. Es una isla maravillosa y no he vuelto por Baleares. También, como tú, me he dedicado a impartir expresión plástica, pintura y modelado en colegios y en otras instituciones. Ahora me dedico casi con exclusividad a la acuarela y a la ilustración. Prefiero el mundo de la fantasía, lo onírico, lo subjetivo dentro del realismo. Ahora las Tablas están en peligro, la sequía, el ansia depredadora de la agricultura intensiva de regadio y la siempre amenaza de que en invierno se enciendan las turberas .
Espero que nunca te tengas que enfrentar a este tipo de incendio subterráneo .
