THE END OF MY OLD STUDIO AND THE FAMILY´S CARPENTRY
Hi my dear Steemians!
today I´m a little nostalgic because the old building that used to be my old studio for many years and also a very large carpentry of my husbands family is finally being sold next week and that means that it will be demolished to build apartments in that place.
We knew for years that this moment would come and three years ago I moved my studio to another building stuck to my home. As the current studio has much lower roofs and less space I had left many things in the old studio thinking that one day I´d have to deal with it.
Well that moment arrived last week and we have been clearing many many things we have stored. we have sold some things, exchanged others and given away a lot.
Here are some photos I have from last year when the light comes in through the evenings and makes this space magical.
This carpentry was founded by my husbands grandfather back in 1963 and was a big business till his oldest uncle retired in 2015. They are all carpenters and we have also made many frames and creative things there.

This carpentry has been a big part of my life for the past 20 years.
Today, after a long day working on moving things out, I´m exhausted and nostalgic. I needed to find this pictures of how it was. Next month this building might not even be standing any more. It has a problem with the roof and it´s too expensive to repair and the new owners make a better profit by building homes there.

Those were the days!
The studio I´ve been using these past two years is also very cosy, I might make a tour post and show you what this one looks like. Before doing that I need to sort out all the things I just took there this week.
Just more and more work! hahaha!
Thank goodness this is happening in my holidays off work. I can fully dedicate to this and my next exhibition on the 29th of October!

Siempre entra la nostalgia cuando algo que nos ha servido para hacer cosas útiles y creativas desaparece. Ignoro si es ley de vida, esto sería motivo de otro debate, pero lo que es seguro es que tenemos una gran capacidad de adaptación, que de alguna manera nos lleva a la supervivencia en todos los ámbitos, tanto físico como mental o emocional como es el caso.
Con esto quiero decir que el espacio físico creativo en el que ahora trabajas, no va a ser un obstáculo para desarrollar todo lo que quieras expresar a través de arte.

Wow! That’s a lot of work there. Do take lots of photos! You will not be able to recognise the place in a few months!
This is hard leaving the old comfort zone forever. I am trying to sort things out in my apartment so I could move on, but I find it very difficult to get down to it!
The old studio looked so nice and cosy.

You are my inspiration for organizing my old junks too! I am very scared at the prospect of having to thrive so many things away!! It’s painful leaving the past behind!

It´s a difficult but liberating experience! I recommend it. It´s brings new energy!
I understand you perfectly. We recently had to sell a house, yard and land inherited from my grandmother. I still remember the fun times I spent there. I still call that village my own, although I am connected with it only by the graves of my grandparents. How much more I planned to do there. Life does not always flow in the direction in which we expect. We are left with only memories.
