EXHIBITION IN CAN TIXEDO 2008.
Hi!
here is a post about an exhibition I did back in 2008 in my favourite venue in Ibiza Can Tixedó Art Cafe.
This was an exhibition that took quite a bit of preparation because I wanted to present the paintings I had made the past year with little ipods to listen to the music-poems that they were illustrated for.
The story goes back in 2006, well actually, a little further back I think. I started using the platform Myspace to follow musicians and artist who I liked and also show my art. At that time I friended all my favourites and when I followed King Crimson musicians who I also used their music to paint with. I got talking (writing) in messages as a couple of them were also interested in my art and we talked about possibly doing a collaboration sometime. Trey Gunn is the one I got talking to most and they did use my art for one of their albums and anyway, at this time, He had just left the band to explore his own music career and had been working on this one poem-music experiment Quodia "The arrow" and he sent me the text and said he could imagine it would turn into something like a picture book with a cd to listen to the music-poem as you look at the images. This was a very loose idea of collaboration as we didn´t have the book financing or anything.
This proposition came at a time that was perfect for me to have something "directed" to work on.
I experimented painting the first three to see how Trey felt the way I was taking the images and he liked them very much...
So then I did the rest of the illustrations over the course of a year approximately.
So you can read the text on this link:

and hear the music here:

This project never got put into a book. Trey Gunn bought two of the paintings he has in his home in Seattle.
So... once you know about the story behind these paintings you will understand why we built the little wooden stands and got a system so people who visited the exhibition could hear the music-text.
This was us putting up the exhibition.
Well, then here are finally some images of the opening night!
Both Jason, my husband and I had been working hard to prepare lots of things. One of the things was that our musician friends who had been living in Paris for the past two years and had been making really cool music said they were in Barcelona and could hop over to Ibiza to play at the opening. It was epic here. People still remember this concert till today.
Thing is that I went out the night before the exhibition to see them play at another bar and before I had supper at a restaurant and something went wrong and I woke up the next day with a belly bug and I couldn´t hold myself together that night. So I kept going home , that was quite close to sit on my toilet. Very unfortunate. Anyway.. people really enjoyed themselves and I sold paintings.
It was all worth it! :-)
One of the only acceptable images of me during the night. This is with a fellow artist Orly.
someone listening to the music while reading the text and looking at the painting.
the venue at the end of the night...
The concert by Circo Divino... you can hear some versions of their work on this link.
And some of the News Paper Clippings from that event:
I hope you enjoyed travelling through these different aspects of this exhibition I did back in 2008.
The other detail I must add is that the poster at the top of this post was created by Jason my partner. He designs all the posters of my exhibitions as he is good at graphic design.
That painting was one of the other I showed in this exhibition. They were still related to my explorations with the Tarot. This one was called the 13 moons. You can read about it´s story in a previous post I made on steemit:

Best wishes to you all!

Hi @romanie, it is absolutely awesome! I am very pleased to learn you adn jason, you are both such creative personality and seems like there is much in common, like two souls created one whole.
I love the poster, that is reflected the idea of exhibition very well. The collaboration between two artistic personalities is something that everyone can dream of. Your works are amazing, the fantasy, the scenery, I even can't imagine how you made it. The colours different shades of gold and red is great!
Dear @steemcurator01, would you please stop and read this post that is posted only on Steem blockchain #steemexclusive.
@romanie is another unique personality who we always love to highlight. he is a professional Artist from Ibiza, Spain. Recently she started to post more about her works, the ideas behind the creations, the exhibitions with the Paintings. The last post is about the Exhibition in 2008, it is absolutely impressive how the paintings look like on wall, their dimension and beauty. I love hte way how she is presenting hte visitors and it is nice to see hte articles in newspapers.
