#club5050 The Queen’s House (56 STEEM Power Up)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

Let me show you around the Queen’s House in Greenwich, London. This is a fantastic quirky area, full of history in East London by the river Thames. You can even choose to arrive on one of the many river boats.

The Queen’s House is free to enter but donations are welcome. It is right by Greenwich Park. Here on top of the hill is The Royal Observatory where the Prime Meridian can be seen, and photoed of course. Right next to the Queen's House is the National Maritime Museum which is also worth popping in.

But let’s not attempt to visit all the Greenwich attractions in just one post. So back to the Queen’s House which is famous for its tulip staircase. It is a piece of art really and I love the bold royal blue colour which the tulip flowers are painted in. Here whilst photoing it I spoke to another photographer, who normally takes just wildlife images, but was so impressed that he also waited for the rare opportunity to photo it when nobody is passing by.

Upstairs there are many rooms with high ceilings. Plenty of paintings including portraits of course, landscapes and still life are exhibited here. There is a wide collection of precious jewellery, fancy china dinner services and even more precious books and letters, all written by hand.

Once you have taken it all in, which is hardly possible I suggest you walk up the hill. It is steep but don’t let this put you off as in not more than twenty minutes you will enjoy a fantastic view of the city of London.

Treat yourself to a hot drink whilst here in Greenwich park and why not say hello to the deer. We have two types of deer here the cute Bambi like fallow deer and the majestic red deer.

Greetings my friend 💁‍♀️This house has been transformed into an art gallery. The Queen herself nowadays can be found in Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace in London, Sandringham Estate in Norfolk or Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was in Windsor Castle for Christmas this year but unfortunately an armed man was arrested in the castle grounds trying to break in 😱

Hola amiga ☺️,
Bueno tal vez alguien tenga suerte y la tropice jajaja, sino a verla por la tv 😅

Congratulations! Your work it´s very nice. I like it very much. Thanks for sharing with us.

I think she should think about buying some furniture. Those marble benches don't shout "homely".

Maybe there used to be some deer hides on the marble benches 🤔?

🤔 Hmmm, perhaps. Perhaps they put some rugs down too so that the floor's not too cold on the feet. Or maybe they've gone all our and installed under-floor heating. That's what I'd do if I lived there. And probably buy a nice, comfy sofa.

Zebra skins would have went well with the black and white pattern of the entire house. I would have sorted a gigantic fireplace 🙂 Comfy sofa 🛋 is a must.

It needs some colour too...

This is so much better really! I certainly love colours. This interior design makes me feel like Cleopatra 👁 I would have had an exotic pet too like a baboon🐒

They're lacking on furniture too though. I wonder why these big palaces don't have any soft furnishings 🤔

I haven’t got a clue really 🛋 I suppose royalty might know why 😜 Having watched The Crown it didn’t seem an easy life for those of them who were less involved and had less duties to perform to just sit around and do nothing. But this is only one way of looking at it.

I love the tiles on the floor, such beautiful pattern. Would be nice to live in such place :)

It will be truly awesome to live in a house like this! I can easily see myself hosting Great Gatsby themed parties there. Once we couldn’t go in as the whole place was privately hired for a wedding 😍

Thank you ever so much for nominating my post for the WORLD OF XPILAR community support programme. It is my first Xmas here on the platform and it feels fantastic being chosen for the booming account upvote on Christmas Eve. The post is original and it hasn’t been cross posted.
