The Walls We Build in Our Lives

There is so much more to the walls we see in our lives.

They are definitely not just the structures we see. Walls represent more than mere objects that keep us away from others; they can hold within them a deep sensation of loneliness or an inner sense of promise. Some walls are skewed, some are bare, some have gaps, some become a kaleidoscope of colors, and others eventually crumble away.

Skewed walls remind me of those tough periods we so often experience that leave us feeling emotionally crippled. It is no surprise that some people’s thoughts and feelings seem scattered all over, hence making them feel lost in life or like a puzzle without its pieces. This disorganization not only leads to confusion but it can often paralyze us as our potential, our goals in life, diminishes. Others hang on to the hope that one day they will overcome all their troubles.

These times should not always be seen as wasted time; rather, these are moments when we should embrace our solitude, look inside ourselves, and ask who we really are.

Gaps within walls can sometimes exist due to insecurity in relationships, trauma from abuse, low self-esteem or mental disorders such as depression. Sometimes, we find ourselves feeling disoriented after going through the loss of loved ones who served as our support system during difficult times in life. It can leave us with a feeling of incompleteness or being stuck forever in that moment while other some walls might even fall in due time.

A bare wall is a wall devoid of any significant color or texture. Can it be that it reflects those moments when we feel like we do not have control over our own destinies? Even worse it could reflect the times that we feel empty altogether.
What I do know is that these moments of bare walls can be opportunities for reflection and renewal—a blank canvas waiting for us to paint it with new experiences and passions.

A few months later... Summer!

Yes! With time our walls can transform into a kaleidoscope of colors. These vibrant walls represent our growth, the richness of our experiences, and the joy we find in life and our loved ones.

Each color and pattern tells a story of relationships, achievements, and personal evolution. These are the walls that celebrate who we are and who we are becoming, filled with the memories of our experiences.
These are the walls that put smiles on our faces.

No matter how we color these walls there are times that they crumble and fall apart.

This might be because of external pressures, internal conflicts, or simply the passage of time. The collapse of these walls can be both a devastating and liberating experience. For some of us it forces us to start anew and rebuild. I often think we look past the opportunities these walls have. We’ve all experienced the feeling that things are falling apart when they are actually just waiting for transformation and renewal.

Just like walls our lives can be skewed, bare, have gaps, be colorful, or even crumble. It is a reflection of our struggles, our triumphs, and our ongoing journey. All that we can do is to embrace the imperfection and beauty of these walls so that we can understand ourselves better and make them strong.

A strong wall will never fall.

Indeed there are walls that’s stand as barriers in our lives as a result of past trauma.

But how do you start a new experience and passion, when you haven’t overcome those past experiences that’s working on your mind!?

But how do you start a new experience and passion, when you haven’t overcome those past experiences that’s working on your mind!?

My gut tells me that you will then have to break those walls down yourself.
Sometimes we don't allow other people to be near us when they are so needed.
Sometimes we don't allow positive thoughts in our minds when they are so needed.
Sometimes we just need to look around us and be thankful when it is needed.

And sometimes we just don't see the good in ourselves when it is so needed.

Best wishes!

Thanks for this piece of advice ..

Thank you!

What an absolutely beautiful post @patjewell! I really felt this to my core! I wish more people in this world had such a deep understanding for the immense complexities of the human heart, mind and soul. The way you wrote this is just so perfectly expressed.

There are so many facets to absolutely everything and everyone in life that I simply do not understand people who fail to see this at least on some level.

Hang on to this piece. it is really special and it is very apparent that it came from a very special place within too. It will make a wonderful collection of words to reflect back on one day.

Hope you are having a beautiful Wednesday!

Awh, thank you for these beautiful words of yours.
So often we write, not knowing if there will be someone out there who will appreciate what we have written or, even better, who will understand what we are trying to say.

Just for information

Deep Narayan Nayak turned mud walls into blackboards and roads into classrooms, bridging the digital divide for marginalised students of Tilka Manjhi Adivasi Free Primary School in Jamuria, Asansol, West Bengal, India and he earned the title of “Teacher of the Streets.” He feels walls are not always barrier but sometimes driving the future of humanity.source

I think it is one of the most difficult things in life, breaking down those walls as we get so used to having them around us. We feel safe in our own world, but unfortunately, so often we are our worst enemy.

Thank you for the visit and the great comment.

Thank you! Not only for the visit but the kind words. 🎕
It is our human nature not to see the potential hidden in all the challenges.

Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.

It seems like the old building has not been inhabited for a long time, is this one of those places that has a scary background?
