A Son's Deep Concern, Urgent Prayers Needed: My Father's Heart Condition
I was spending most of my time in the library studying and when I came home I found out that my father had been experiencing severe chest pain. I had been telling him to see a doctor but due to various reasons it just kept getting delayed. Three days ago my father was sitting with me in the room and when he suddenly tried to standup he had severe pain, so intense that tears started rolling down from both of his eyes. He tried to get up and move around but the pain was unbearable. I immediately ran out to the medical store got him some medicine like aspirin for immediate cardio protetctive which gave him slight relief.
The Screen Addict | Black Rain
The people who are closest to me, know that I am a huge fan of Ridley Scott. There is no other director that has so deeply touched the very core of my film soul, and continues to do so with every feature he directs. There is, of course, no need to defend his universally recognized masterpieces Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982) and Gladiator (2000), or even one of the lesser celebrated works of genius like 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) and GI Jane (1997). The film that does deserve a lot more love and attention though, is the excellent Crime-Thriller Black Rain (1989).
Old San Juan Puerto Rico
Just a few days ago I took an exciting trip to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. This charming place, nestled in the southeastern tip of the island, offers a unique combination of rich history, vibrant culture and breathtaking natural beauty. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the sight of the majestic flag waving proudly in the wind as I looked around the picturesque coast and its many landmarks.
The Walled City
It's my fourth consecutive post about the city. So far, I have written about the border, birthday, and university. Those blogs were mostly personal but the events happened in the city. However, this post will be an insight into the culture and some history of Lahore itself.
Equality Denied - Human Rights Denied
A few days ago, our parliament members excluded a group of citizens from the very society they represent - Citizens who vote and also pay the administration's salaries. What did they vote on? The prohibition of so-called "propaganda of non-traditional sexual orientation," something that has never even existed! The proposal came from a pro-Kremlin party! By doing this, they not only violated people's rights but literally excluded them from society. Why is it taboo in schools to discuss having control over one's body and not feeling like a blemish in a healthy social body just because one doesn't fit the "norm"? We send our children to school to learn how to live with others, no matter who they are.
Magpie encounter in my backyard
Now here in Australia this here is what we are scared of haha. You hear about all these stories from overseas that everything in Australia wants to kill you like snakes and spiders. But if you talk to an Aussie they will all say that magpies are the number one thing we all fear the most.
Art, AI, Deception and the "Originality" Question
And that's the issue of the fallout from our modern day societal fondness for entitlement and inclusiveness. It's one thing that people are taking their coloring pages, and perhaps doing a nice job with them, but then insisting that they are being "discriminated against" if they're not allowed to hang them up as "original art" next to the work of somebody who has spent 30 years mastering their skill as a painter kind of turns the whole thing into a farce, at least in my book.
Putting the Shoe on the other Foot
If I go out into my garden right now, I could pick literally endless points and positions to go stand and every single one of them is going to offer me a completely different view. Angles, perspectives and sights that no other position will give me… and the options of vantage points are practically infinite.
