Every day we dedicate some time to the Steemit platform. We know that this platform and the Steem blockchain in general is reviving and actively developing. We know that the Steem blockchain is designed to fairly reward high-quality and interesting content, that this blockchain can be used in various industries.

We know a lot... but the vast majority of other people have no idea about it. Moreover, if a person hears about Steem and wants to learn more, then with a high probability he will receive false and negative information.

One of the important sources of information for all mankind is Wikipedia. However, if we want to learn anything about the Steem blockchain here, we're going to fail. The only thing we can read in the encyclopedia is about Steemit Inc and this platform. But even in these articles there is very little information and they end with the fact that in 2018 Steemit Inc fired many employees.

Is that all people need to know? Ofcourse not. The information needs to be updated and supplemented. I tried to do this in the Ukrainian section of Wikipedia and plan to improve this article in the future. But there are only about 41 million speakers of the Ukrainian language. This is too little. That's why I'm looking for Wikipedia editors in other language sections.

Rules

  • Improve the article about Steemit in any language section of Wikipedia. You can simply translate the article from the Ukrainian language section. You can also write a new one about the Steem blockchain or the STEEM token.
  • Let me know about your work in the comments to this post. You may not post about it on Steemit, at your discretion.
  • The contest is valid until July 12, 2023.

Prizes

  • 1st place - 10 STEEM POWER
  • 2nd place - 7 STEEM POWER
  • 3rd place - 5 STEEM POWER

I look forward to your participation.

Steemit is a social media platform like Facebook that's decentralized on a Blockchain. It's more like a blogging website where users create contents and they get rewards in cryptocurrencies for the post they make.

Steemit is also a web 3 platform, an advanced version of Facebook. When you create contents on Facebook, you get likes and comments but the case is different on steemit. You earn cryptocurrencies when you post on the platform. These rewards can be sold and converted to one's local currency as cash. You don't need to invest as registration fee before you join and its being built on a Blockchain makes it possible for the platform to last for years as Facebook is although not that popular a social media.

I did upload it on Wikipedia @oleh....

Wow, thank you. Perhaps I did not clearly describe the conditions of the contest. The Ukrainian language section of Wikipedia cannot contain text in English. You need to publish your changes to the English article.

So I should publish my writeups to this link?

Yes please.

Sorry i had power outage in my city. Couldn't upload it....How do I go about it?

Hi @o1eh

I would like to help you, but can you explain more in detail please what all we have to do promote steem.
As per language, I can help you in National Language of India - Hindi.

Thank you for your interest in the contest.

The idea of the contest is to fill Wikipedia with materials about Steemit or STEEM. Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia and each of us can edit articles there or write new ones. However, if you haven't done this before, it may take a little more time than you'd like to spend on it.

Where would I like to start? Take a look at this article. It is too short and contains extremely superficial information. The same articles exist in some other languages.

If you switch to Ukrainian among them, you will see a more complete article. Until recently it was also short, but I worked on it a little and now it looks better.

I would like the articles in other languages to be more complete and updated as well. For this, it is necessary that people who are speakers of other languages supplement the articles.

In your case there is no Hindi article at all. You need to create it and then create a language link to link your article to Steemit articles in other languages. The easiest way to create an article is to take my Ukrainian article and translate it into Hindi (with the help of a translator and then edit the sentences so that they read normally).

350 million people speak Hindi (according to Wikipedia). If there was an article about Steemit in such a popular language, it would be very helpful.

If you thought that everything I wrote looked too complicated, then know that I appreciate your time and if you decide not to write an article in Wikipedia, then I will completely understand that.

I know it would not be so easy as I haven't done this before, but i will definitely make a try and let you know how can I help.

The best thing you told is to take your article and translate it into Hindi and go through the grammar. So a small request, will you please share the link to your post on Wikipedia .

Thanks

Thank you so much

I have interest in this contest and I wish I saw it earlier.

It looks hard. I don't know where to start from, have clicked the links but I was finding it difficult to translate the Ukrainian language to English before I begin.

Yes, it's a tough contest. Next time I'll think about it and come up with a better idea.

Alright but I think it shouldn't just end like that, you can give us a little task to perform in steemit and get the prizes. What do you think?

I don't want it to end like this.

No, it makes no sense to spread information about Steemit on the Steemit platform itself.

No that's not my point, my point is changing the contest theme as a whole or instead you give us another task to perform in steemit, probably the highest quality comments we made and so on.

Tomorrow is the time for this competition. I will think about a new one.
