The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #123 - Damavand Mountains
The name of this Mountain Peak is Mount Damavand. It is the highest peak in Country of Iran and whole of western asia and it is also the highest volcano in Asia. This Mountain has a height of 5,600 metres. There are many Mountains in the world which are much taller than this one. The interesting part of this Mountain is the mythological story behind it.
It is believed that there is one demon chained in this Mountain. Through out the day he chews up the chains and towards morning he feels he would get release from the chains, but as soon as the Cock Clucks at the first Sun rays the chains again thicken up. The day the Cock does not cluck will be the day when this demon will be free and he will destroy the whole world.
I like this picture because when I reached to this place I saw that the Clouds were covering the Mountains in a perfect shape as it looked like it was a part of the Mountain.
This place holds a special place for me as my roots are in this place. I was fortunate to visit here and spend time.
