Beauty
Beauty is an abstract notion linked to many aspects of human existence. It is the attribute that we recognize in beauty, and as such, some of the qualities that have traditionally been attributed to beauty are harmony, proportion, symmetry, and perfection, as well as the ability to please the eyes and the ears, and to captivate the spirit.
It is a subjective appreciation, and its concept has varied throughout history: what is beautiful for one person may not be for another. However, certain characteristics that society in general considers attractive, desirable and beautiful are known as beauty canons.
This image taken a few years ago, corresponds to a field of sunflowers located next to the General José Antonio Páez Highway, a short distance from the twin cities of Acarigua - Araure, in the Venezuelan western plains.
To modify the original photo, as I have done for previous publications, I made use of the editing tools from PicsArt application.
La belleza es una noción abstracta ligada a numerosos aspectos de la existencia humana. Es el atributo que reconocemos en lo bello, y como tal, algunas de las cualidades que tradicionalmente se le han atribuido a la belleza son la armonía, la proporción, la simetría y la perfección, así como la capacidad para agradar a la vista y al oído, y para cautivar al espíritu.
Se trata de una apreciación subjetiva, y su concepto ha variado a lo largo de la historia: lo que es bello para una persona, puede no serlo para otra. Sin embargo, se conoce como canon de belleza a ciertas características que la sociedad en general considera como atractivas, deseables y bonitas.
Esta imagen tomada pocos años atrás, corresponde a un sembradío de girasoles ubicado a un costado de la Autopista General José Antonio Páez, a corta distancia de las ciudades gemelas de Acarigua - Araure, en los llanos occidentales venezolanos.
Para modificar la foto original, tal como lo he realizado para publicaciones anteriores, hice uso de las herramientas de edición de la aplicación PicsArt.
