Soul
Although the definition of soul may vary according to the cultural context and philosophical perspective of each person, this term is generally used to refer to an immaterial and invisible entity possessed by living beings.
The soul would be the essence of people, that which forges the identity of each one of us, being a gift from God that makes each one of us unique. In the case of animals, there are those who maintain that they have souls, while others consider that it is an exclusive property of human beings.
This sculpture made of wrought iron and entitled by its author as "The Cages of the Soul", is exhibited, or at least it was a few weeks ago, in a well-known shopping mall in the east of the city of Barquisimeto.
The work presents a man sitting on a chair, while with his right arm fully extended he holds a cell phone as if he were taking a selfie, presumably with the intention of sharing it on his social networks.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.
Alma
Aunque la definición de alma puede variar de acuerdo al contexto cultural y la perspectiva filosófica de cada persona, este término generalmente se usa para denominar a una entidad inmaterial e invisible que poseen los seres vivos.
El alma sería la esencia de las personas, aquello que forja la identidad de cada uno de nosotros, tratándose de un obsequio de Dios que nos hace único a cada uno. En el caso de los animales, hay quienes sostienen que poseen alma, mientras otros consideran que se trata de una propiedad exclusiva de los seres humanos.
Esta escultura elaborada en hierro forjado y que su autor tituló como "Las Jaulas del Alma", se encuentra exhibida, o al menos lo estaba unas pocas semanas atrás, en un conocido centro comercial del este de la ciudad de Barquisimeto.
La obra presenta a un hombre sentado en una silla, mientras con su brazo derecho completamente extendendido sostiene un teléfono móvil como si estuviese tomándose una selfie, presumiblemente con la intención de compartirla en sus redes sociales.
Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir la imagen original a mi entera satisfacción.
