Kilim (or Gilim)

Kilim is a type of carpet(rug) that is very beautiful and cheaper than carpet.
A kilim is a hand-woven fabric that is usually woven from the wool of domestic animals and is generally used as a rug.

Structure and History of Kilim

The kilim is woven without lint.
It is woven synthetically with wool or cotton yarn in the form of warp and weft.
The smaller the yarn layer, the better the quality of the kilim.
Perhaps,The kilim is a simple type of carpet.
kilim has been common before the invention of the rug.
Artifacts from the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs trace the existence of kilims at that time.

Kilims are usually woven with geometric patterns.
These motifs mostly include rhombuses, triangles, quadrangles, #flowers, domestic animals and predators(wild animals).

The oldest woven kilim is found in #Egypt.
Of course, in countries such as #India, #China, Afghanistan, Iran,Pakistan and other Middle Eastern countries, kilims are woven.
